I replaced the axle of my 25+ year old 4x8 light duty utility trailer due to having the OEM axle bending from several overload instances (all my fault). This replacement unit is significantly more robust and is actually designed for the weight range the OEM was supposed to have, but didn't due to its design. The spring seats were slightly out of line for my trailer, but I could do an effective workaround and am ABSOLUTELY happy with the outcome. I did the replacement in about 2 hours. Tip for DIY'ers: definitely get new spring clamps as the old ones are probably less than optimal and, if like mine, the threads were rusty due to road grime and moisture!

Overall satisfied with a pair of replacement axles & hubs. (for Hobie Cat and Trimaran beach flotation trailer). In addition to the installed dust caps, was also shipped with extra sets of dust caps taped with the lug nuts and installed hub wrapping. Out of 8 dust caps a total of 7 were damaged. Two of the “extras” were distorted/smashed beyond usage. Fortunately I already had two new sets of Bearing Buddies I was going to install anyway, so I just trashed all the thin and damaged dust covers as shipped. Better packaging and protection needed.

Good solid axle , bolted right up , but the bearing caps (see photo) were crushed . No protection over them but paper & a plastic bag . Must of used for a pogo stick or battering ram .. replaced them with a set of original bearing buddies. Which is a big up grade ..

I replaced the axle on my small boat trailer. The new axle was exactly as described so it fit perfect. Good, solid looking axle with a very durable looking coat of quality enamel paint.It only took about 4 days to arrive and was 2 days earlier than expected.
