Who We Are
We are named Kulkea (cool-kee-ah), the Finnish word meaning “to go and travel.” Our goal is to free the adventurous spirit within all of us.

Kulkea was born when two New Englanders saw a need to solve the shortcomings of traditional outdoor gear bags. Their pioneering prototype quickly became the go-to for avid skiers.

I absolutely love this bag. I was going to give up on my new ski boots, as I felt as though I would break bones trying to put them on and off. Got this bag for Christmas and viola, my boots slip on easily and my feet are toasty and comfy. I love how I can fit my helmet, gloves, gator etc, and they are all warm when I put them on. Lots of compartments for everything. Easily worn as a backpack.

This boot bag is highly functional with space for everything you need to ski. It also warms my boots and other items very well. It is quite expensive but well made and a lot of thought was put into the design.

I use this as a backpack for skiing, either local or flying somewhere. Straps stow easily for bag check. Heating elements are effective but not excessive: boots are warm enough to be easy to get on, and that's all. Other compartments have enough space to stow my other gear, and then some.

This is a gorgeous very high quality bag and I so much wish I could use it. I wanted to upgrade from my old heated bag which I have had for almost 20 years and is starting to tear. I love that unlike my old bag, this bag heats the boots separately and because the boots are on the sides of the bag, the weight distribution is better for my spine.The reason I am returning it is that I have to travel for ski racing so when I travel, my helmet has to go inside the bag. I cannot travel with the helmet in the helmet sling. Unfortunately only an adult recreational helmet fits inside the bag. An adult hard ear race helmet is too big to fit through the hole of the main and largest compartment. It's a shame because Kulkea makes fantastic products.I would, however, love to have them put handles on the sides as well and possibly a slip handle in the back to slip it onto a luggage pull handle. It's also a little annoying that if your helmet is in the sling, you don't have access to the pockets but that's not a deal breaker. But unfortunately, in my case, not being able to put my race helmet inside the bag is a deal breaker. That and the fact that it doesn't have side handles is why I gave it four stars. It's a real bummer.I love the bag and I really hope Kulkea comes out with a racer heated boot bag in the future. If they made a heated boot bag for racers, I would definitely buy one.

Heavier with less room for Parker and ski pants than my prior bag/. BUT the heated boot function is fabulous and well worth the price of the bag. Makes putting on vert tight fitting boots so much easier than with non heated bag.

Hard to find anything negative to say about this bag. It is well thought out, appears to be very durable and well made and the heating elements in each side works well. Personally I could always use a little more storage space, but that's a minor complaint. Five stars.

Kulkea Thermal Trekker heated gear bag performs as advertised! I like the size and shape, the boot heaters are great and the pack straps are much easier to carry vs. swinging a big duffel type bag. Crazy price to land it in Canada, but now that I'm using it no regrets.

Bag seems great and is set up well and thoughtfully. Only issue is the slider on the 120V switch is not connected to the switch underneath, so have to use a pen or something similar to move the switch below the slider. Contemplating either forcibly removing the slider or returning the whole bag, as haven’t used it yet.
