A friend pointed this to me when I purchased the i9-12900k in Oct 2023. I was having issues where the CPU was reaching high temps and pegging out close to 100 C and thermal throttling. I did not know that the ILM (CPU bracing bracket) on the newer chipsets tends to warp and cause the cooler not to sit properly on the CPU and keep it cooled. Once my order arrived I removed the factory ILM bracket and replaced it with this device. My water cooler now sits perfectly upon the CPU and hasn't caused any issues with cooling on my device. Max temps I have seen are around 80 C max depending on what I am working on. Even running programs such as Aida64 and stressing the CPU temps have dropped from the 100 C range down to 85 C range. This has definitely saved me from causing damage to my CPU due to heating issues. It is simple to install by simply removing the original bracket off the motherboard and utilizing the 4 screws from the original device and placing the CPU in place with thermal paste and simply mounting the bracket over the top of it and screwing it down and installing the cooler.My wife upgraded her PC in June and went with a 12th gen i5 LGA 1700. I didn't even bother trying to install the CPU until I ordered this device and had it in hand. I didn't want to have to remove and reinstall everything like I did on mine so I waited and installed this device to be safe from the start.

Really should replace all the standard mounting brackets Intel uses. Easy to install, holds the CPU level, lowered my 14900K temps by 8-10C, but YMMV.

Decided to use one of these when I upgraded my CPU fan. Simple removal of screws from the original mobo clamp, and installed easily. I had watched some installation videos on YouTube to get the general idea. However, some guys wanted to act like if you didn't do it their way, it would cause CPU failure. (LOL).There's no complex trick to this. Just remove the original clamp screws, and then use them for this unit. You don't have to overly tighten the screws ...just snug them down. You'll know when to stop.Seems to work well enough. Not sure I can say that it has drastically improved the CPU temp, but my unit stays fairly cool anyhow.

I installed this to help with my 14900K temperatures along with MX6 paste and noticed a 7 degree drop in temperature while under load. No more throttling and temps stay below 73 degrees under full load.A great value for a product that works great.

Only took a little while to install and it looks a lot better aesthetically. my temperature is definitely a lot more stable!!! i feel a little more at ease especially while gaming

This bracket gives much more support, and so easy to install! I've always hated the stock LGA bracket and the stupid little arm. I will be installing this bracket on all my future PC builds.

To test this the only thing that changed was this mountI tested temps using a game called the first decendant to benchmarkBefore the mount was added I'd get peak temps of 87c during preparing shaders and peak temps of normal gameplay for an hour was 84cAfter the mount was installed my peak in preparing shaders was 76 and peak during normal gameplay for an hour was 65I've also noticed 5-15c lower changed in my gpu tempInstall is very easy and instructions are clear and simple I used it on a 14700k so would definitely recommend to anyone wondering if it's worth it for 14th gen

I've just built a computer based on an ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-H Gaming Wi-Fi motherboard, i7-14700K CPU with a Noctua NH-D15 CPU air cooler. ROG Support advised that an LGA 1700 CPU frame would be a good idea for this set up. I've reviewed the frame with photos, including temperatures running at XMP 1 overclocking profile.The first photo shows the motherboard and the standard CPU frame with the protective cap removed. Four screws hold the standard frame. These need to be carefully removed with the screwdriver that comes with the new frame; both are shown in the second photo. It's best to release the standard frame lever before removing the screws, as the arm is spring-loaded against the motherboard. The second photo shows the top of the new frame; note the small triangle on the bottom left corner of the frame that must line up with the small triangle on the bottom left of the CPU. The third photo is the underside of the new frame showing the recesses for the CPU. Carefully place the CPU in the underside of the new frame. Fit the new frame holding the CPU on the motherboard, and fix it with the four screws that you removed earlier, tightening each a small amount and working in a circle. It should now look like the fourth photo. I put a 2 mm dot of Noctua thermal paste towards each corner of the CPU, with a 4 mm blob in the centre, then ran the system for several hours without overclocking to ease in the system and thermal paste.The fifth photo shows the UEFI BIOS screen with XMP profile 1 applied. The CPU temperature is 39 degrees, DDR5 is 7200 MHz, the CPU is at 5900MHz, the motherboard is at 28 degrees (ambient 23 C).The i7-14700K CPU has a reputation for being difficult to cool, but this set up works comfortably. I have posted reviews on Amazon for the other components.

I'm already using a Thermalright contact frame and so far the only differences I can tell between the V1 and V2 frames are the fact that the V2 frame now says LGA 1700 instead of Intel 12th, and the fact that they no longer include thermal paste with it. All you get now is the torx screwdriver. I definitely recommend watching the video tutorial from Gamers Nexus to install this properly. If installed incorrectly (over torqued screws, unevenly torqued), pins may not be making proper contact and could result in memory instability, borked DIMM slots, lost PCIe lanes or other power/ground related issues.Also note that performance highly depends on how flat or convex your cooler base plate is. If it's convex like Noctua coolers, it won't make any difference but it also won't hurt. I used the V1 with my Noctua U14s and measured no difference in temperatures. Either the CPU bending wasn't significant enough OR the base plate shape made perfect contact with the bent CPU heat spreader. That said on certain AIOs with very flat baseplates, it could make a significant impact if the stock ILM is bending the heat spreader a lot causing a gap/insufficient contact between the cooler and the CPU.Overall, this is a good product that could offer big thermal gains on coolers with a flat base. If you are having obvious thermal issues from the get go, this could very well be a solution to your problem. I'll be pairing this with my new 14th gen build for piece of mind knowing it'll work well with any cooler I choose.
