One of the M.2 PCIe gen4 SSDs on my system was reaching 76° Celsius while the room temperature was just 23° Celsius (73° F).If you have a Gen 3 or slower M.2 you might not need a heatsink, but PCIe 4.0 drives do get hot and PCIe 5.0 drives run even hotter.Fast Gen4 NVMe SSDs are great and they could run just fine when a bit hot, since NAND works fine when warm, but when the controller temperatures start going above 65°C Celsius, then is time to use a heatsink.I decided to get the Thermalright M.2 Pro 2280 SSD Heatsink, just to lower the temperatures by a few degrees, and to be honest, I was not expecting much at this price point. The Thermalright M.2 Pro 2280 SSD heatsink design provides excellent cooling performance and lowered the temperature by 22° Celsius. It kept the M.2 PCIe gen4 SSD max temperature at just 54° Celsius while a full speed. The Thermalright M.2 Pro 2280 SSD heatsink is compatible with both single-sided and doble-sided M.2 SSDs.The packaging includes the M.2 heatsink, two pre-applied thermal pads and four screws to hold the backplate. It is very easy to install. The thermal pads included have the consistency of clay, so you might not be able to reuse it.The Thermalright M.2 Pro 2280 SSD heatsink provides excellent cooling performance and it did a incredible job at keeping the M.2 Gen4 NVMe SSD cool. The heatsink is well built and it cost a fraction of similar performing units.

Wow!!! I bought this becasue I have no height clearance, M2 is located under GPU (it fitted right away beside my concerns) in this Gigabyte MBs, the other one is next to CPU wich is cooled by a Noctua NH15, a huge cooler!I posted a berore/after picts for you to see what are the differences made my this heatsink compared with Gigabyte MB supplied ones. Before min was 47 Celcius and the max 70C...After min was 30C and max 61C, 10 degreess less than Gigabayte MB provided heatsink! you can also see improvements on reading/writing also!Recommended??? YESS!!!!!but if you have vertical space available I suggest to go for Thermalright HR09 2280 PRO wich was installed into another computer... Brutal!!! no other word means what this piece of hardware does!!! I wrote a review of it also.

first aftermarket heat sink that I ever purchased & there is no need to look at anymore. for eight dollars you get a top notch, well constructed, well packaged & well functioning heat sink. i bought two of these guys & two of the other models & both have without a doubt been an excellent addition to my setups.

it works, and is a great value, for anyone need a basic heatsink for their SSD, you would for certain need a larger, and better heatsink if you do frequent large transfers, and I mean more than 10GB at a time.

When I did my first PC build, I bought an SN850X. The temps werent bad on the stick, but I wanted something cooler than just the sticker provided. This dropped the temperatures at idle and in high use by a LOT. I was surprised at how effective it was for a passive headsink/spreader.I was so impressed with both its minimalistic but attractive design and how it cooled my original stick of SN850X that when I got a second stick, I bought this immediately along with it.Are there better out there? Probably. Unless you're constantly churning through data, I feel these will do an amazing job at keeping them in a very cool and healthy range. If you want to keep your m.2's nice and frosty on the cheap with an attractive design, get this.(Major plus! NO RGB!!!)

Temperature difference isn't extremely noticeable, but every little bit helps cool your pc and keep it running smooth. Price is great. The instructions in the box do not specify how to install, had to watch videos from YouTube to figure it out.

La geometrÃa hace muy incómodo casi imposible atornillar el m.2 a la placa. Si lo logras, funcionará muy bien.
