I like that it came ready to use, with batteries. The battery compartment is easy to open and battery placement is quick, though I did have to look up how to open it on You Tube. It does not come with instructions. So far, it has been very helpful to double-check my old stove's operating temperature.No more resetting the timer for underdone baked goods. And no more burned cookies!

I needed to test a new oven and I bought this. It works well. At first I thought there was no way to shut it off without removing a battery but then I tried letting it sit for a few minutes and it turned off automatically. The new oven was set to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The thermometer gauged it at 338. Closer to the bottom of the oven at its hottest spot it was 360z I believe the thermometer is accurate.
