I purchased these covers to help protect my exterior paint and interior trim on my new car while letting my dog hang out the driver's side window when we go for a ride. These are kind of thin but the magnets are pretty strong. For what I am using it for it works fine. I may add some of my own magnets but the magnets sewn into the fabric during manufacturing should be good enough when properly using the item as a fender cover.

These are very thin not thick !! A furniture moving cover is much better and cheaper! I regret wasting my money!! Beware

I have 2 cars I'm working on, and both are for engine work. This is perfect. I have a habit of having my Leatherman in my pocket which would will easily scrape the paint off a fender or even just the zipper or a tool. This is perfect for protecting the fenders from me as I'm working on it. This includes both fenders and the front. I also use the front piece for the lip of the trunk to protect when moving things. I just used it to load a new 20-ton press I bought. It weighs 200 lbs in the box. I was able to just lean it against the lip with this cover and slide it in without damaging the paint. That one-time use alone was worth the purchase! The magnets are plenty strong and there are also hooks that you could use to secure it if you have non-steel fenders. I greatly appreciate this since I'll be replacing the fenders on my MSRT* with vented ABS plastic replacements.Very good purchase that is already getting heavy use!

These were thinner than I thought they would be. I have another set that is pretty heavy and thick. They are harder to position over the curve of a car but offer mote dent protection from a dropped ratchet. These thinner fender covers will keep your car clean and prevent scratches but offers little protection from a dropped tool. There is really no impact absorption. Having said that, they offer good coverage and conform to the shape of the car better that my other set so they end up being used more.
