These are as people say: a warmer, richer dominant. Personally, dominants tend to sound harsh and bright on my low-intermediate violin, but these strings sound perfectly balanced and have many layers of sound to it. They project decently, and last fairly well for about 6 months. The G string did start sounding a bit unclear after the 4 month mark, but it wasn't horrible. The e string tends to whistle quite a bit but has a beautiful sweet tone with amazing projection. The whistling may have been my fault though, since when I had them on from 10-4 months ago, I was a measly grade 2-3.5ish player. I'll try them again eventually, now that I can currently play grade 5 music. I definitely miss these and want to rip off the dominants i have on and slap a new set of these, then cuddle my violin and apologize for making it even touch dominants. If I ever need strings quickly and don't have time to research and make a decision on a pair of strings I haven't tried, these will be my go-tos.

So happy with these strings!! I had started looking at other violins because I was unhappy with the sound. Turns out, you should change your strings more than every 10 years! Hahaha 😠Well the difference was incredible. Beautiful tones, warm sound. Really really happy with these. I did have to remove 3 of the 4 fine tuners i used because the end towards the tailpiece is wrapped well and was too thick to fit into the tuner. I simply am using them without fine tuners now. Would buy again for sure.

I have had many sets of strings, cheap and expensive.Recently decided to give these a try as they claimed to be warm and rich.In all honesty, I have had twenty dollar strings that blew these out of the water. These are the absolute worst, scratchy, dull, poorly resonating strings I have ever had.I cannot fathom anybody who has ever had an okay set of strings (nevermind fantastic strings) enjoying the sound of these. If you stay in first position, you're fine. But if you shift to 2nd, 3rd, or God forbid 6th position- well.... you're forked. Harmonics? Forget about it. All I can produce is a gritty sandy, scratchy and occasionally snagging sound.Things I play routinely well sound like absolute crap on these. My once lovely harmonics are destroyed by these, I cannot play anything past 1st position without disgusting tone and sandy bow noise on these strings.Going back to my favorite strings, not naming names so this won't seem like "a paid review" by competitors.I see hundreds of 5 star reviews on these... it puzzles me. Don't know how anybody could like these. Waste of a lot of money and and I'm beyond disappointed and mad. To the trash they go.If you're curious, my violin is lovely. French and over 100 years old. These could only make a $50 student instrument sound better. That, I could understand. They either sent me reject poor quality controlled strings, or it's just a ripoff.Forgot to mention the gold plated e string snags my bow hairs, as though the plating is chippy. Not happy, it's severed 3 of my hairs.

I've been through 3-4 sets of these strings during the past few years after searching for "THE strings" for me. I have been very happy with the overall tone quality of this set of strings (I would like to note that I did once try the Evah Pirazzi set and found them to be too loud and harsh for my taste). Obviously strings are hard to review for the benefit of others since it is such an issue of personal preference. My only complaint is that the e string does whistle sometimes, but I don't think this becomes an issue until several months of use. I would definitely recommend trying these if you're looking to upgrade from Dominants and/or are disappointed with some more expensive options.

Warm & bright - great on my 1876 violin. Set in quickly. Have tried many different brands to bring out the sound - these are by far the best.

I just put these strings on my violin so I can't comment on longevity yet but the sound is wonderful. They were easy to put on and clearly different from my old strings (which came on my beginner/intermediate $1500 violin)- visibly thicker G and D string and just a pluck makes the body of my violin vibrate which my old strings barely did. The sound is deep, resonant, and mellow. I live in an apartment so I practice with a metal mute and wow, even with a heavy mute the sound is still lovely! I'm really surprised that something small and relatively inexpensive- a switch of strings- could so obviously change the sound characteristics of violin. Very happy with these strings, will update on longevity later.

I put this on my violin after neglecting to change my strings for quite a while. It took a few days to fully break them in, and I even did a few recommended warmups specifically to speed the process along. After a few days, they sounded great! Just know they will act differently on every instrument. Recommended for young professionals.
