I really like wireless CarPlay and I have used a dongle just for that for awhile now. I saw this one and noticed it supported NetFlix and Youtube and decided to try it out. It is a bit unwieldly trying to get to things at start up, sometimes I just want CarPlay and you have make several screen moves to get to other things like NetFlix. Also you have to connect Wifi to your phone as a hotspot to stream other sources. Overall it was too much for me and I went back to just a CarPlay dongle.

I recently tried out this wireless CarPlay dongle that converts wired CarPlay to wireless, and while it does work, it’s a bit slow. It takes a few moments to boot up and then requires some time to connect via WiFi, so there’s a bit of a wait before everything is ready to go. Once connected, it functions just like wired CarPlay, but the initial setup time can be a little frustrating if you’re in a hurry. Overall, it’s convenient for getting rid of the cable, but you’ll need to be patient during the start-up.
