The head fits great into the Black and Decker weedwhacker spindle, but the blades are not built to last. Like weed whip cord, they wear down and break - plan replacement accordingly. The blades are excellent for thicker or more challenging plant material, and this heat is a great swap in for jobs where the cord is not sufficient.

So these look right and fit and do the job, but the plastic material is different and the sound they make when you bump them or scrape them on the ground while trimming is jarring. Hollow, plastic scraping sound. However, cheap and easy to use and replace.

I wanted to clear out some weeds (maybe ragweed) in an area of the yard I don't usually use but there are some bushes a previous owner planted. Tried using my string weed eater (40 V) with .065 dia. string, nothing. I saw this blades and thought I'ld give them a try. They came with a cap that holds the blades which are held in by screws and than snaps into the opening of my weed whacker. I had planned on just opening the area around a few bushes but this turned my weed wacker into weed destroying machine. The blades are strong and sharp. The weeds, about (1/4 - 3/8 dia.) were no match for these blades. Because they worked so well and fast I ended up clearing a whole area around all the bushes and plan on putting in grass in the spring. I did break a blade but I got carried away and started whacking some thick wood sprouts popping up in another area. Btw: I did use the blades when trimming the grass and they did fine. I would definitely use safety glasses using a weed eater "especially" with the blade attachment.

I gave this product a negative review a couple of weeks ago. BUT, after further investigation of my weedeater, I mistakenly left part of the old, damaged head. This product came as advertised and has exceptional value.

So this does a good job replacing string, it lasts at least 2 full jobs before a blade change is needed. As well I’d like to discuss battery life, it took 2 full batteries to do my job weedeating my yard. Now I can do it with one battery which speaks to time, I can do my yard twice as fast. It is not as forgiving on fence and the house as the blades are more aggressive than string but over all 8 blades will likely last a Canadian summer. Great product for the black n decker 20 volt weed eater.

First of all when I ordered it, i was expecting the mounting head and multiple blades not a few blades and multiple trimmer string spoolslikely my bad, no reading glasses on when ordering. The trimmer head was easy to assemble and install (no directions though) and worked like magic until suddenly, mid operation, one side of the head sheared off completely and the blade broke on the other side . Alarming to say the least , not to mention dangerous! I was trimming next to rough cut hemlock raised garden beds -a fairly soft wood so it does seem surprising that contact with that surface was enough to cause that.Plastic fatigue after less than 30 minutes of operation?!! Sure worked a treat before then though!
