This cargo box is incredibly well designed from both an esthetics and functional point of view. The XL fits like a glove on our 2023 Highlander. I was really wanting to try the XXL but according to my measurements and the fitment chart provided by Thule, it appears the hatch would contact the box on that model. I went with the XL for peace of mind since I knew it would fit and it’s plenty of space for for our needs. We can easily fit two full sized suitcases and one carryon size with plenty of room around them to stuff other miscellaneous items.Installation was a breeze and took me less than 10 minutes. The vehicle with the box still fits in the garage and can be opened and loaded there as well. The lock and latching mechanism make opening and closing the box a breeze - it feels much smoother than the old Yakima Skybox I had before and overall this feels much higher quality. I’ve only had the carrier for a day so will update later with better pictures and more information on road noise and durability.

"Thule Motion 3 XXL.I fitted my 2017 Toyota Highlander with the Thule Motion 3 XXL, which fits perfectly well, I really like its aerodynamic design which gives it a unique style, the gloss black color looks great.Its installation is very easy and simple, it could take you 7 to 10 minutes.I also like that it is extremely spacious for loading luggage.My personal opinion is;The Thule Motion 3 XXL is highly recommended, due to its product quality, size and aerodynamic design."

The Motion 3 XL Low is a beautiful roof box! It sits low, and mounted lower on the factory rails. I bought it for my gen 3 Toyota Sienna and it’s a perfect fit. Titan color goes great with Silver color Siennas. You can fit it such that the front sunroof cracks open without interfering too much with the rear lift door. I have not noticed any difference in gas mileage - I normally averages 19.7 to 19.8 gallons per mile driving below 70MPH - I still see the same gas mileage even after 10 or more tanks of gas. I plan to fit either a full size or compact spare tire in the box during long roadtrips.

Off the bat I'm not impressed with this product. The product I received has a cracked top. Also the middle elbow piece was broken. It's light weight but with this is more fragile product becauseof it. Much like ultra light camping gear if people can relate. Very flimsy feels and looks cheaply made. I was surprised of the lack of quality considering the price tag. I hope my replacement is in better condition and the flimsy feel was from a faulty product. I think the lid could have a better eventually pull when closing. If the front back and middle had the cross bar of sort pictured between in the rear portion of the cargo. Door cam detached on the second one they sent. Not worth 1100 or can you justify the quality for the price. The company product quality had gone down.

I had a JEGs cargo box which was big and sturdy. I recently purchased a new car and needed something more aerodynamic and something my wife wouldn't mind (spoiled). Thule Motion 3 perfectly supplements the VW Atlas's design. I was afraid XL would be too big, but it is the perfect size.I installed this by myself, the locking mechanism is easy and reassuring, with little wind noise (I had a 2 door jeep for offroading and a soft top.. I know a thing or two about wind noises).Questions I had before buying which now I can answer:Wind noise: minimal (It will vary by vehicle and how the rails are spaced out. my vehicle: VW Atlas)Usable Space: Ample amountSpeed: No issue at going 80mph and little increase in wind noise (very surprising) but I don't recommend this as the max speed limit of the box is 80mph. I only went up to 80 when trying to pass. 65-70 constant and no issueSturdiness: my 2-year-old had a blast on the JEGS box, jumping on it and sliding down the front. I would not allow that on this one. It focused on aerodynamics and lightness so a baby sitting on it might not be safe for the box. This isn't cheap for sure but worth it in the long run. Now, I don't have to break the bank and get a Suburban.. at least for now.. 3 kids.. don't have too many.. it is expensive.

You can find less expensive options out there. But, I love the quality and simplicity of the Thule. It fits our 2023 Rav4 with stock roof bars perfectly. I love that it opens from both sides and it's extremely easy to install and remove in just a few minutes each time.

It has the same plusses and minuses as the Yakimas I've purchased: at a higher price. My main reason for purchasing it was that my new car's roof rails required Thule crossbars and they were too fat to be compatible with anything other than Thule roof boxes.It is a good box and has better clearance, which is very important in my case, for its capacity. It has the same extremely difficult to remove large advertising sticker as the Yakimas. It is hand wash only. If you want to wash your car you have to remove both the tub and the cross bars or wash your car by hand. Even "touchless" car washes invalidate your warranties.
