This ski rack is very easy to install, especially if you already have cross bars that include the T-lock track in them (I have the Thule WingBar Edge). It only took me about 15 minutes by myself to put this up on my car’s roof. The extension aspect of this ski rack is what had me sold. I didn’t want to have to step up onto my car in order to load/unload my gear. The extensions are super easy to operate and make loading/unloading a breeze. The matte black color is also a very nice touch since it goes along with my car’s color scheme. I highly recommend.I have 2 snowboards (side-by-side) and 1 pair of skis in the pictures shown. In order to fit more than 2 snowboards, the additional boards will need to be inverted and stacked under the right-side-up boards. There should be enough clearance from the car’s roof with the roof rack + ski rack to do this but I haven’t yet tried or had the need to do so.

it has two different mounting methods ( the feet with the straps or the T-Nut method ) it worked well with my wingbar EVO crossbars as it works with many different crossbars or brands of crossbars .... just installed and so far seems to be of good quality .....

I use it on my Traverse (about 6 ft tall). I do not need to step on the vehicle to take the skis off, which in my opinion well worth the extra cost (about $80, or 30% more) for the sliding vs. non-sliding mechanism.

Easy to install and use, but noisy when you’re on the highway. My 5’2†wife needs one of those door latch steps to be able to use this rack successfully on her SUV.

The instructions for the product seemed to be written for someone that had already installed the product and needed a refresher. Having a QR code which takes you to a video showing the different types of installations would be priceless.Once I got through getting the rack installed on my Explorer the rack has performed flawlessly. We have taken numerous trips to our local mountain and just returned from a trip to Vermont. When I was pricing out the different rack options, at first I was planning on going with an entry level model but after doing some research realized with the explorer having the mount slide over to the side of the car would make the install and removal of the skis much easier. And after using it, I could not imagine putting up three pairs of skis onto the rack if It didn’t slide let alone 6 pairs.

The ad for this is terribly misleading. I can’t get 3 boards on here much less 4. It’s also ridiculously complicated as you have to purchase several other parts (a bar, and two different connections) all with individual instructions and you only realize you need to order extras as you’re assembling it. This piece is just one part of a “systemâ€. Ended up spending $1,000 for a roof rack and “system†that only holds two boards and one pair of skis. It’s also really loud once you’re over 70mph.

Slides right into Aero groove on top of Tesla rack bars.Very easy to install and use. Looks great and extender permits skis and Thule rack itself to be centered.
