This really came in handy for me when I had to bind about 40 books. I was considering going to a printing store for them to do it, but this was a much better option cost wise. It shipped really fast, came with very clear instructions, and worked like a charm!

This works well. The hole punch works up to about 8 pieces of paper easily and 15 takes some effort. The spiral thing makes putting in the spirals much easier. I've made about 215 notebooks on it with around 65 pages each and it is still working good and just like it did when it was new.

I'm a homeschool parent and I often need to bind a lot of booklets at the office store. So, I decided to purchase a binding machine myself to save time and money. I was surprised by how heavy the machine is, but it works well and is very easy to set up and use. One of the things I love about it is that it uses standard 4:1 pitch coils. However, it only comes with one size of coils, so you'll probably need to purchase more if you're making larger books or booklets. It also has an electric wheel that pushes the coil through, so you don't have to do it by hand. Overall, this is a great addition to our homeschool setup!

Go with the blue one by the same company. I think the blue one you can select pins so that it doesn't punch the ends of the paper so close to the edge.....it feels like the paper will rip .

As a homeschool parent, I bind a LOT of things. We purchase mostly digital curriculum and print/bind it ourselves because I don't like to keep track of what our independent study charter school wants us to return to them at the end of the year. Physical books you often have to return to our school, digital you do not. Anyway, I've been using a ProClick binding system and it's been great but it's a 3:1 pitch and coils only come in fairly limited sizes; mostly smaller than I need. This binding machine uses the more standard 4:1 pitch coils so I've had no trouble finding inexpensive coils in even very large sizes. I like that there's an electric roller thing on top of this machine to help you insert the coils but honestly I find it easier and faster just to do it by hand. It's not at all hard. The plug disconnects from the back of the machine and isn't necessary for anything but that top roller so I am able to just store it elsewhere and it's not in the way and I love that. The punch does around 12 sheets of paper at a time if you're using 20# paper; less if you're printing on higher quality paper. I print on 24# and find 8 sheets to be the sweet spot as far as efficiency and ease of punching. The machine does come with a box of smaller-diameter coils to start with but they're only good for books with only a few pages (around 30) so I'd recommend ordering a variety pack of sizes along with the machine. The pliers they include work alright but I prefer another pair that I already had because it creates a longer bent part at the end of the cut that keeps the pages from coming off the end of the coil. If you're having any issues with the books uncoiling themselves, just try another pair of pliers -- they're not that expensive. I've had this machine about 2 weeks and have bound 5 books totaling over 1000 pages so far and it's worked flawlessly for me. Overall, this is a very useful and well made binding machine.
