If you are like me and only need to use something like this occasionally, you may get it out of your bag or tote or whatever and lay it out and stare at it wondering "how the heck do these pulleys go again???" Keep the paper sheet sheet as if you are like me, it is handy to lay out the pulleys and rope properly. It does work as advertised for me.Note, there are two "settings"...1. the rope and primary stopper that you can use by itself. This is good for items not terribly heavy to hoist and hold...or as tie downs. But for tie downs i prefer ratchet straps. 2. You can add a couple pulleys to the mix to increase your lifting ability. This is where you need the diagram to get the rope/pulley routing correct (at least i do)Folks have said the length of rope is not enough...it was fine for me in my garage application. If however you are connecting it higher than maybe 9 feet up, the rope may not be enough.

It was much easier to set the 2 pulley system up by watching the videos on You Tube.I didn’t like the “tie hook†which when not under load slipped out of lower pulley hole. A at I replaced that w a locking carabiner.I will b using mine to hoist deer. I will repost a review after using this season.

I used a pair of these to mount a 200 lb vintage Jaguar hood on my workshop wall. The jamming cleat made it easy to lift the hood 15 feet up to the mounting bracket.... I was able to raise the hood myself, alternating sides, about 6" at a time. Great quality product.
