I've been using these to make DIY pins. Everything has worked out perfectly with no issues. I never have problems with these rubber pin backs, but I often hear stories of people losing pins which used them. Well, a drop of superglue or any other household glue down in the backing's hole will solve that problem. If you have a glue with a fine nozzle, you can put just enough to hold the backing on. Another option is to just use any piece of scrap rubber, leather, cork, etc. and push it onto the pin before you put the backing on. That way, there's two layers of stuff holding on the pin, and any glue you used will get on the scrap material, not the clothing item.

I used these for my nephew's birthday, with him turning 1 I had to make something special. I whipped up some badges on my 3D printer and with superglue on these backings I made a prop everyone could wear at the party!

There are only 50 pairs in this and I was able to find another listing on amazon for 200 pairs for only a couple dollars more. They are the exact same tacks and therefore I found this to be a little pricey for only a quarter of the exact same product.

I needed some backless thumbtacks to help create a work board with a monthly calendar and some post it notes. I found these in my search and decided to give them a try.These work flawlessly! I glued 3 tacks to each side of the calendar and applied the calendar to the cork board once dried. I thought for sure the weight would cause these to fall off. Thankfully not only have they not fallen down, they haven’t slipped or sagged off the board either. Everything is on securely. I would definitely recommend using these.
