It's made from 100 percent supplex Tilley Nylamtium, a form of lightweight nylon that's lightweight and resistant to water. The fabric has also been certified to block 98 percent of harmful UVA/UVB radiation and deliver an ultraviolet factor (UPF) of 50+--the maximum rating given. Other features include a dark underbrim for glare protection and floatability. It also ties on in windy conditions.
Each Tilley hat is hand-sewn and all seams are lock-stitched so they won't unravel. It also comes with a secret pocket in the crown to safely and securely store items such as a driver's license, room key, or a $20 bill. Machine wash on delicate cycle separately or hand wash in cool water. Do not use bleach. Guaranteed for life not to wear out.

My son-in-law is "hair-follicle challenged." As of late, he has been treated for scalp pre cancer cell issues. I gave him this Tilley hat to protect him from intense sunlight.He has confirmed the hat has been effective in protecting his scalp, and ears. He likes its style and Airflow band. The hat is sized correctly and is very comfortable.Note: I have owned a Tilley hat for 25+ years. It has exceeded all my expectations. I am not "hair-follicle challenged."

The quality of this hat is amazing and stands up to all the outdoor activities that one could imagine. Last Tilley hat has lasted years and still going strong. So decide to try out a new color.

I rarely give 5 stars but this hat deserves it. I replaced an old Tilley that never fit me right with this one and having the right size was such a difference! I carried this hat smashed in my checked bag on our last trip and you could never tell that it had been packed. It was comfortable in the heat and sun. The mesh at the top let the air flow so it never felt hot and the brim kept the sun out of my eyes and off my neck. Excellent choice if you are traveling in an sunny or hot/wet clime.

Thanks to the seller, the hat came very quickly. I submitted my hat size, following their directions for measurement and it fit perfectly. The Tilly hat has a great reputation as a travel and sunshade hat. I'm looking forward to wearing it on the golf course in the heat of summer.

I will not purchase another hat through Amazon, at least until I can be assured it will be shipped in a proper package. This was my second hat purchase through Amazon, and my second disappointment. Both hats, a Sun Day and this Tilley, arrived in plastic envelopes of the same type you would ship a t-shirt. Both were crumpled flat and misshapen. I had two choices: return them or work with them to try and restore their shape, which I chose to do. I think eventually I can get this Tilley to look like the hat pictured and not a potholder. The Sun Day hat wasn’t as expensive, and eventually became a yard hat. But for what I paid for this Tilley it should have been shipped in a box. I had bought each of these hats previously, the Sun Day from my local Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Tilley from REI. I liked both hats and chose to go the Amazon route for their replacements because my local stores did not have my size needs/color preferences. The hats are great, but the shipping is crap. I'm buying these locally from now on.

It’s made in ChinaI could understand such a high price if it was made in Canada, but they moved manufacturing to China and kept the same price as it was before when it was made in CanadaAlso the size runs very small. I made the measurements then added 2cm and it was so small I ended up replacing it with 3 sizes larger
