Gear loosens time to time but doesn’t affect the product. A/B point stop works and it’s a great budget alternative.

Tilta made the first one. Smallrig made a copycat with improvements. Then Tilta copied the Smallrig and added improvements. So this one is sort of the 3rd generation of these small, inexpensive, and really quite useful follow focus knobs. I like it a lot.

I ordered this FF to replace my current one which was an industry standard size and was very huge, this follow focus is smaller than I thought it would be so i took off 1 star and has a 80cm pitch( which is very small) it can work for photo lenses as their focus throw is very short however if you're using cinema lenses like me then you'll have to do quite a few turns to hit your hard stops on the lenses. I wanted to make my rig lighter for dolly shots and this definitely cut down on the weight a little bit however I don't think i'll be using this on bigger productions, for run and gun shoots where critical focus isn't as important this works great for that but as I stated earlier if you have Cinema Lenses with Longer focus throws you probably don't want to go this route,I've heard that Tilta sells different size gears i'm not sure if they're compatible with this FF but if so that might be a solution to the problem.

Having used a highly inferior version from a shoulder rig kit I’d gotten, I just assumed all of these were a pain to use if you were swapping out lenses or needing to change the rig setup. This product changed my mind. The wheel turn is smooth without excessive drag or wobble. The innovative latching system allows me to swivel the gear away from the lens without changing the clamping force on my rig. No need for hex key tools is such a game changer when making quick changes on set. Love this product.

Surprised me: The included rode holder cannot be attached to the side of a cage from another popular brand, the product images are small to show that. Luckily it works with my full size cage which has a 1/4†facing front, otherwise have to return it for another brand product. Not a problem to use with existing base and rods. The product itself is good.
