I started with the Original Quick Release bell. It was fantastic. Pleasant motion activated cow bell jingle. Ability to set the frequency and easy to mount. Perfect for riding multi use trails and bombing downhills while alerting those around you in the proper way for where you are and what you’re doing. The only issue was the click mechanism for setting the frequency and turning the bell on and off began to loosen up, after a few years and thousands of miles of riding. No big deal, just lost the ability to turn it off when not needed.I just ordered the new and improved Quick Release Model Yew! It fantastic. Many improvements to make it more robust. The housing is stronger. The package contains multiple shims for different size bars or alternate mounting points. The mounting systems is much more robust. The best part is the mode switch has been resigned with replaceable parts and a much firmer click. It is now, what I consider, perfect. Do the right thing. Buy it.

I live in Northern Kentucky and do quite a bit of high speed downhill riding on multi-use trails with lots of hikers/dogs. After having it awhile I find that I like the bell on the seat post the best - in that position it stays pretty quiet when on flat ground or climbing, but then really gives a good warning when going downhill without the need to flick the switch back and forth like u need to do when mounted on handlebars. On the seat post you can “hit it and forget it†and also looks better mounted there, IMO. Also it WILL get smashed against something at some point no matter where u mount it so deff recommend the flexible strap version vs. the fixed, bolt on version. Wish it sounded more like a cowbell and less like a jingle bell, but that is a minor complaint! lol

Love the passive functionality of this bell for mountain biking on trails with high speeds and blind corners. Other trail users will be aware of your presence far sooner than the typical bell you ring yourself which are great on paths but not so much in the woods.

Easy to install and perfect, tight fit. No vibration or sound while riding, until you need it to. High quality

Fits many sizes of handlebars. The shut off feature is nice for when wanting a quiet ride and great when activated to avoid surprising people and animals on blind corners, so I bought 4 of them, one for each bike I ride.

Very unique there’s a lock position and when need to let someone know your coming release and pull down trigger. Has a deep ring( cling cling) does looks like a cow bell just made for the bike.

This allows me to not always be saying “on your left†at some local trails where people love to walk 4 wide and not pay attention to their surroundings. It has a good tone that is t aggressive and can be heard from a decent distance.

My bell arrived today, I was eager to fit it and give it a try! I attached the bell to the bike and to be honest, was sure what expect.Wow 😮 to make it work you need to pull the lever, absolute rubbish? I don’t have the time to pull the lever back and forth, total waste of good money. The bell went straight into the bin, the cheap one that came with the bike is much better.
