4 Link Tire Chains
4 Link Spacing Details:
- 4 Link Spacing is an economical alternative to the 2 link spacing snow chains.
- Twisted Link Snow Chains are recommended for pavement and concrete.
- 4 link tractor chains, cross chains occur every 4rth side chain link.

2 Link Tire Chains
2 Link Spacing Details:
- Heavy Duty Tire Chain is made of thicker cross chain and thicker side chain and fasteners.
- Twisted Link Chains are recommended for pavement and concrete.
- 2 link snow chains, cross chains occur every other side chain link giving consistent ride with less grip-slip like a 4 link chain.

V-Bar
V-Bar Details:
- V Bar Tire Chains are V-bar are helpful on hill, ice and hard packed conditions. They are not recommended on pavement since they can damage the surface it the tires begin to spin.
- V-BAR also called, Ice breaker, ICE BAR and REINFORCED TIRE CHAINS. The V-bar is a piece of hardened angle iron, welded to each link of the cross chain. 15/64 or 9/32 thick depending on actual tire size. Recommended for ice and off road use. Double the wear over tire chains without the V Bar.
- VBAR chains are characterized by the presence of V-shaped steel bars, also referred to as studs or links, that protrude from the chain's surface. These bars provide enhanced traction and grip on slippery surfaces, particularly on ice and hard-packed snow. The V-shaped design helps to dig into the surface, providing better traction and reducing slippage.
- They offer increased traction and stability, improving vehicle handling and reducing the risk of accidents on icy or snowy roads.
- What is the difference between 2 and 4 link spacing? Snow Chains spacing is defined as the number of side chain links skipped between cross chains. For 2 link snow chains, cross chains occur every 2 side chain links. For 4 link tire chain, cross chains occur every 4 side chain link.
- Which is better 2 or 4 link spacing? 2 link tire chain is always better. 2 - link tire chain provide for a more consistent ride by having more chain on the face of the tire. Therefore, helping to reduce the bumpy ride from being on chain - off chain. 2 link is always recommended for steering tires, since it allows more steering control.
- When is V-Bar tire chain recommended? V-bar is helpful on hills, ice and hard packed conditions. V - Bar or Ice Bar chains are not recommended on pavement since they can damage the surface if the tires begin to spin.
- Do I have enough clearance between the tire, struts, or control arms? Check your your owner's manual, vehicle manufacture or dealer to confirm adequate clearance. Click here for a picture of a tire chain clearance problem.
