This stuff is on par with real ceramic wrap, which is very hard to find lately. I've had very dangerous situations with the cheapy fiberglass wraps (car lit on fire from the cloth burning up!) I can't stress this enough: most exhaust wrap is made from fiberglass and coated with a chemical that resists burning. Fiberglass wrap burns at a surprisingly low temp. I've used many different types - it is all garbage. Ceramic wrap is great but very expensive and difficult to find. I think this Vulcan wrap is just as heat resistant as ceramic, but actually has better stretching qualities, and is reasonably priced.

I bought this wrap to do a custom job on my Harley headers. So far I've only been able to wrap the head pipe on my enduro bike but it looks awesome! Not only does it look good, it reduces the heat coming off the header next to my leg. I suggest wearing latex or nitrile gloves to install this wrap as the fibers can get embeded into your skin and itch for days. Handing the wrap without gloves won't typically irritate your skin but when you apply it that is when you should put the gloves on because you will have to pull and stretch the material to make it fit. I suggest using hose clamps to secure the wrap as well as opposed to steel tie straps because the clamps have more surface area to hold the wrap and get tighter easier.

If going to rap your headers car or motorcycle Vulcan rap is the way to go. I have used DEI rap for years I just bought 30 feet of DEI rap but it was not enough to rap vmax motorcycle header. So I order the Vulcan rap to finish up the headers. When put it to together side by side with DEI the Vulcan was a little cleaner looking. So I strip off the DEI and install the Vulcan rap to me it looks better. And my friends like the shine off the Vulcan rap on my headers. You may like to use gloves the fibers can make you itch after you finish rapping you headers. You can gauge how much to buy. I posted few pictures of my Vmax motorcycle header rap with the Vulcan rap 50 feet is what needed for my headers. It had lift over about 2 feet, Nice header rap I'm very happy.
