Perfect replacement for discontinued Honeywell valve that came with my 20 year old Majestic fireplace. Well, not perfect, it did take a little imagination to mount it. This unit is just slightly wider than the original Honeywell valve, so I use the two bottom screws next to the gas in and gas out connections. So the valve is mounted with 2 screws instead of 4 but with the gas in and gas out connected, it's a very solid mount. The only other thing is the Honeywell valve had a built in igniter, which this valve lacks. This was solved with an inexpensive Piezo spark igniter, which provides for a much stronger spark than the igniter on the original valve. The piezo connects to the pilot assembly with the same wire. It's important to get the silver grounding tab on the piezo connected grounded. With the way I mounted it, it just slid into the opening that was used on the previous bracket to allow for the gas in connection. I then used the now unused hole for the top right valve mounting screw and drilled another hole and criss crossed two cable ties, one going each direction and pulled them tight. Again, this ended up being very sturdy. This may sound like a lot of trouble but it really wasn't. When I wasn't able to find the exact replacement Honeywell valve, I was stuck as to what to do. This ended up being a good solution, and was fairly inexpensive. I replaced the pilot assembly also and still only had about $230 in parts. Anyway, this wasn't difficult. If you are even slightly handy, it's a DIY job that will save you at least a few hundred bucks.

This valve did the job! It was not a direct replacement for the existing valve in my Majestic fireplace, but it would not have been reasonable to expect it to be since the original valve was discontinued. I had to rework some of the connections and mount it a bit lower that the original because the knobs are "taller" than the old valve. My only recommendation would be to include instructions for the valve, or at least a link to where instructions or a manual could be found. I was able to find a manual with a simple internet search, but it would have been nicer to at least include a link.

Valve was purchased after old valve pilot would not stay lit, and thermocouple was tested good. New valve did not work but supplier replied to my enquiry within one hour and sent a photo showing that the thermocouple could be installed in one of two places. This allowed me to fix the issue within five minutes and now the valve is working fine. Great customer service!

Valve does not work. No instructions, however these valves are really straight forward to install. Valve looks good, just doesn't open. All components on thermoplie test out good. Just a bad valve that can't be returned.

Excellent working valve. Matches old valve. There are two locations that the thermal couple terminal block may be located, one in the back and one in the front. The location of the thermocouple terminal block on this valve is in the front.

I like that the valve is a direct bolt in replacement. I used this to convert the heater from propane to natural gas.

My fireplace stopped working this year. I did, of course, forget to shut off my pilot light this summer and noticed it was still in the on position. Thankfully it shut off the gas still.I tried lighting my pilot, cleaning everything up and wouldn’t stay lit. I replaced the pilot light fixture and it did the same thing.Decided to replace my valve with this one and am happy to say that all is working again. Thankful for all the reviews and tips. Great product. Think I’ll clean up or possibly replace the gas tubing next if needed.
