INSTALLATION STEPS
Step 1 and 2: Remove the original hood latches with tool
Step 3 and 4: Fix the upper and lower parts of the hood latches with screws (Please remove the connecting rod before installation)
Step 5 and 6: Fix the lower end of the connecting rod with screws and secure the upper end of the connecting rod with a bolt
Step 7 and 8: Rotate the connecting rod to adjust the length and olck it with the key
Step 9: Complete the installation.

So it has been a few months. The install was just as easy as any hood latch on a Jeep. The locks are great and will slow down anyone that does not expect it. My only issue is after a few months the cables have signs of rust. I will be looking to clean this up or will replace the cable at some point.

I like the locking feature and the fact that it is adjustable. I adjust hood latches to full extension for better engine ventilation for on road conditions. Then I adjust hood latches to retracted position for off road conditions. With the hood up about 3/4 of an inch higher than the down position the inlet air temp is reduced by as much as 20 degrees. The higher the speed the cooler the temps. Adjusting the latches only takes a couple minutes. With the latches full down there is no shaking in the hood. Installation was easy.Excellent product.

Wanted to replace the broken stock latches with something that would get rid of hood flutter. Installation was easy and components are decent quality. The fit was perfect and tightened right into place while looking great. The locking pin is simple enough to bypass with a small flat head if you loose the keys but looks complex enough to keep honest people honest. Will see how well this holds up to the desert sun.

They look great. But after 10 months I returned to the OEM due to the mechanics:1. Real pain to use the key to unlock the pin for latch disconnect. This was a major issue when I was exploring the in the desert and took 10 mins to open my hood to investigate an issue. Maybe there is a secret but I could never figure it out. This is also an issue for when I take the jeep to get serviced, the mechanics could never get one of the latches to open so they would disassemble the whole thing to get engine access.2. The metal eye that is mounted to the fender and attaches to the hood flops back and the metal eye dinged my fender (looks like hail damage). So that isn't cool.3. Sometimes the eyebolt screw will rattle lose so you have to make sure the hood is super tight with no vibration, which also makes it more difficult to release to latch from the hood.

I wasn't too sure of the design, but after installation it is a great product. I've noticed a couple of times someone tried to unscrew the barrel, but it is open proof. It gets slightly higher on one side than the other and fixes easily.

I wish to edit my initial review.I was contacted by email by the company and they explained to me what had happened. Apparently the part I received was for a different model of Jeep, slightly older I believe.The company remedied this by shipping to me the correct parts I needed. The customer service they showed me was excellent and truly was unexpected. I would like to highly recommend their company and product as it does appear to be of very high quality and now I can also speak highly of their customer service as well.I would like to thank them for their efforts to reach out to me to fix the initial error.Was disappointed when I installed them and they didn't fit properly.I have a 2009 jeep wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and after taking the time to take off the original latches and getting these into place, when I went to put the lock pin in I was shocked to find that the center post that it should slide through was about 1/2"- 1" too shot to reach the necessary length for the pin to pass through. Even though it is adjustable, even at its max length there was no way it was going to be long enough. I was very disappointed after putting in the time and effort for the installation to have this happen after it was such a promising looking product and was originally just what I was looking for.The materials seem to be high quality and the install wasn't too bad after taking the grill and lights out to have better access.
