These are better than more expensive pads. They’re thick and last.

Not real sure about the grit rating, but does the job of light sanding on hard or difficult to reach surfaces

These pads are really durable,, they can be use wet or dry and will sand those rough spots on your auto or other things that need to be smoothed out. They are 240 grit so they work well for most any sort of job.

Steel wool works great jobs like for surface cleaning in the shop, scuff sanding between finish coats, and the like. But it's messy and I hate getting those tiny steel bits everywhere as it starts to disintegrate.I've also used plenty of those plastic-based alternatives. The good ones do work, but they're expensive and they wear down faster than steel. So I figured I give these a try. They're neither steel nor plastic, but a finely-spun aluminum. They seem to perform very similarly to steel wool, if not better, but the best part is that they seem to be more durable and THEY DON'T SHED! Yay. Especially in woodworking applications, fiber shedding can ruin a finish in a hurry. As one other review noted, these are probably not a substitute for P1200 sandpaper. I think they're a little more coarse than that, but still plenty fine enough for most finishes.I also used one to clean and resurface my table saw. (I do this every once in a while to clean up glue residue and little bits of rust that tend to form.) It worked beautifully. This will be my go-to choice next time I have to clean up any serious rust...does the job with much less mess than steel wool.I can't speak to the ultimate longevity of these pads, but none of my test uses caused much deterioration at all. I expect to get a lot of use out of this 10-pack. Highly recommended.

But I still expected it to be a bit more gentle
