I just recently started to learn how to make stuffed critters and I needed eyes for my projects. I opted for the sew on type, figuring that they might be safer. They're good enough for the price, but I rated them only 4 stars because the little holes in the back seem a bit flimsy and can cut the threat when sewing them on. I recommend using a heavy duty thread. Thick yarn will not go through, and it takes a fairly small needle as well. Overall they do look good on the project, and so far they stayed in place.

I wanted sew-on eyes for projects like the ones pictured (a “pocket hug†gift) since stick-on eyes won’t stay on yarn as well and could potentially present a choking hazard for small children. These eyes come in a pre-sorted wide variety of sizes and are easy to sew on using sewing thread. The loop on the back of each eye is simply a pair of slits in the backing plastic, which is then slightly stretched to accommodate a needle and thread passing through. Yarn would be too thick, but a travel sewing kit tucked into my project bag worked perfectly. The eyes themselves seem well put-together and so far I haven’t found any defective ones. I’ll order these again once this stock is depleted.

I’ve been sewing these on everything I can get my hands on. I put them on this ratty Misfits shirt my husband wears and even he howled over it. They’re very cheap and also cheaply made, so they won’t last a washing, but I don’t care. They’re hilarious.

You get different sizes in this bag and there are many I didn’t need this large amount but I wanted the option of have different sizes. I would recommend these.
