I just tried this and got an absolutely PERFECT egg! I like mine on the cusp between soft and medium. Looking at other reviews, I am concerned the product may not hold up or continue to perform as well.But first time use it was flawless. After being on the counter a few minutes, it returned to its original colours. I will update if any problems pop up. One thing I did learn is to put the eggs (and timer) in a pot of cold water. When it comes to a boil, turn off and cover. I did not realize that "boiled eggs" are not actually boiled! In my case, the colour changed exactly as it should over the next passing minutes. I just peeked under the lid now & then to see how far along it was.

I can’t give this a five star yet since I have yet to use them but they are replacing a similar one I have used for years. They are just as pictured and rather cute. I hate standing over my boiling eggs waiting for them to finish so these come in very handy!

Best product I found to properly time eggs. Easy to read and you will get the egg you want from hard boiled to soft boiled. I use this nearly every day.

Both of the items did not work properly. It was also very hard to see the color change. So i could not use them at all.See the attached photo (the yellow one is the product) and how it is compared to another brand
