A friend gave me an old upright freezer that needed some TLC. After cleaning it up and applying Rustoleum appliance primer and black epoxy finish, it looked amazing, but the gasket wasn’t sealing uniformly. I considered replacing the gasket, but that seemed daunting. Then I discovered these adjustable toggle latches! They allow me to fine-tune the pressure on the gasket exactly where it’s needed for a tighter seal. Installation was straightforward using rivets and a thin coat of heavy-duty construction adhesive. The black latches not only solve the sealing issue but also add a cool steam punk vibe to the freezer. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!

These clamps are manufactured well. They allow a significant amount of adjustment and are capable of closing small to medium gaps. They are finished with a durable black coating that should last pretty well. These come in a pack of six assemblies with a lot of extra hardware (screws) and it's a good thing. There are so many additional fasteners because these are some of the worst screws I've ever used. They seem to be made of some kind of hardened peanut butter that strips quickly and then continues to try and strip your bit or screwdriver. Not good as it detracts from the relative goodness of everything else. It was a frustrating experience but not because of the clamps, only because of the screws.

I ordered these for a folding prop I built for a dance company. The clamps are easy to install, easy to adjust, and they hold fast when locked in place. The metal seems durable, and the clamps have already been through dozens of latchings and un-latchings in practice and performance, and while the locking bar screw does need to be readjusted every now and then as it gets shaken loose, this is to be expected, and it’s quick and easy to fix and latch securely.I also appreciate that they are available in black. In general, I’ve only seen them in variations of silver, so being able to have black to match the prop (without having to paint them and risk gunking up the mechanism) was an added bonus.

The package I received contained 6 toggle clamps and enough screws for installation. I had a different plan in mind, and used machine screws to install the clamps. I've got them set up to hold a couple of jigs in place on my drill press table. When needed, I center the jig in place, close the clamps, and it is ready to go. When I reinstall the jig later, it is again ready to go, and the parts (some sacrificial pads for glueups) are interchangable. These are just what I needed, wish I'd realized I needed them sooner! Recommended if you have a use for some small toggle clamps.

I had to buy proper screws in order to install these on my steel off-set smoker. The hardware that comes with the latches is for wood only. That is not pointed out in their advertisement.

I built a compost sifter several years ago; and the biggest challenge is getting a secure latch to hold it tightly closed. The second challenge is getting one that's easy to open and close.I've used this type of latch on a Catio door; and it works well for my wife and I to use it one handed. I found this set of 6 available for me to try from the Amazon Vine program; and decided to see if it could work on my sifter.I knew I needed at least 2 of these to close it; maybe 4 if I put them on the sides like I had my improvised rubber strap latches. The rubber latches seemed like the perfect solution until two things became apparent. They were hard to open and close; and the rubber deteriorates after a year badly enough the have to be replaced. The two I put on to replace the rubber versions seem to be enough. It will take a full cylinder of compost to put it to the test. I can add 1 or 2 more if needed. But, I think 2 will do fine.In that case; I might replace the slide bolts on our garden sheds with the remaining four. I've considered that after the one on the Catio worked so well. But, they might do well to make some great gluing jigs for my wood working projects too.I can recommend this set for another great feature too; the finger lever on the latches has a soft vinyl cover that make it easy on your finger when you open, and close it.These are a big improvement over the traditional latches from the 20th century.

I ordered these to go on my motorcycle shop door. The bottom of the door has warped a little and until I can get time off from work to fix it, I ordered these latches. You can see from the picture that it is holding the bottom of the door closed and not letting the little critters in that I as having a problem with. Squirrels will try to get in anywhere. On thing that I really like about these is the fact that they are adjustable. Center the screw on the latch, add the screws and then spin it in or out to tighten or loosen it. Next I will probably add a couple to my enclosed trailer door on the inside so when I go to the bike rallys I can lock it from the inside. I added one on the inside of the door shown also, so when I am in the shop, nothing decides to sneak in. Great product.
