Not top of the line but satisfied for the price. Tube hasn't frozen or cracked in below freezing temos. Stays flexible. Taps are also working as expected. Would buy again.

The spiles have a smooth end and a notched side. It is not apparent which end goes into the tubing and which end goes into the tree. If the smooth side goes into the tree there are no retention grooves. And the wide, shorter side with ridges is too large to fit into the tubing. It should be snug but not a struggle to fit them together. I wish I had read other reviews about how narrow the spiles are and that they clog easily. Will unfortunately be returning these.

Tubing is a softer plastic causing easy kinking

The diameter of the end the tube goes on is correct, but you have to experiment with what size to drill the hole in the tree to collect the sap without it leaking down the side of the tree. 1/4 inch is too big, so you need to almost drill a 15/64 the hole but then it goes in pretty hard and still leaks until the inside of the tap thaws in the morning. The tubing that comes with is rolled up so tight it is very difficult to get any amount of it to stay straight enough to use. some places were kinked to the point fluid would barely pass thru it.

Spile broke after first night in tree. Also size is not true as listed. Much smaller (diameter) than listed. Tubing was not length listed either.

The hose is a little to flexible and the the plastic taps are a little thin. Worked ok but more concerned with hose having kinks.
