If you have vehicles or equipment that has a lot of spring hose clamps you should have a set of these clamp pliers. I had a hose clamp that no mater how I tried to get to it to be able to squeeze it open I could not find anything to get a hold of it. I bought this set and in a couple of minutes I had the hose removed. Well worth it and wished I would have had them earlier when I first started the job.

LIKES: This is a tool I never knew existed, and happy to have found it. The pliers ratchet, which is great because many times the hose clamps themselves never lock. Handles have rubber on them. I also like there are angled pliers as well to get to the ones that are harder to reach or have obstructions. These really do beat traditional pliers in use.DISLIKES: They are cheaply made. However, I would say that for the home mechanic who may use these every once in awhile this will be totally fine.I haven't used the cable tool yet, but excited to use that too!

I am a firm believer in having the correct tool to do the job makes life much easier. I work on appliances quite often and the retention clamps can be a difficult to remove. I tried using this tool multiple times and it just did not work. The clamp kept popping off the tool. The tool has a great grip and it is very reasonably priced compared to similar ones. It just didnt match up to the durability and craftsmanship I was expecting.

Well I used many of these to replace a leaking water jacket on my son's VW. a couple of the clamps stripped and are no longer effective. Some won't hold open anymore, and others are just broken. They served me well enough for the one outing, but will probably not make it through another intensive clamp replacement job on another vehicle.
