These dividers are made from high-grade carbon steel with hardened and finely ground points. They feature a quick-spring nut for rapid and precise fine adjustments that will securely hold any measurement. Adjustment mechanism is central located to assure smooth action. Fulcrum and adjustment mechanism are brass. “Yankee” style flat-leg construction makes unit very durable. They have a substantially hardened spring for years of service. Maximum opening is 4.25 inches or 108 mm.

I just received this tool yesterday. I was surprised at the excellent quality of the fit and finish. I will use it for woodworking exclusively. The legs did not wobble at all as some have mentioned. However, it appears the two screws on the back could be adjusted to take out any wobble. The adjustment mechanism was smooth and consistent. So far, I would definitely recommend this tool. The country of origin was not specified on the packaging or the tool itself.

The machining quality on this product is good. The spring action works well. The position of the divider stays locked and tight. The price is great.

After a few days of light use, the fine adjustment wheel doesn’t stay locked with the quick adjust mechanism anymore. This makes it impossible to turn the fine adjustment screw without the legs slipping apart rendering the calipers completely useless.They worked fine and were aligned nicely until the adjustment mechanism broke...

Initially a very functional tool. The action is quick to set and easy to use. However, with moderate use over time, one of the legs has twisted and the points no longer meet, making them useless for precision work.
