SILVER TESTING KIT METHOD: This silver testing method is best used on silver that is yet to be smelted, due to the harsh nature of the solution that could potentially damage an already finished item; if testing fine jewelry, sterling silver items or other finished items, be sure to choose an inconspicuous spot so as not to compromise the finished piece
HOW THE SILVER TESTING KIT WORKS: To test silver purity, scratch the item onto the test stone leaving a visible deposit, then place a small drop of the solution over top of deposit; the purity of the silver is approximated according to the color the solution turns when it is applied to the sample; if the solution turns bright red that indicates high quality silver; if the solution turns blue or green the sample may contain brass or copper; if the sample deposit dissolves quickly, or the solution turns a dark brown or yellow, it is likely a base metal or silver plated

I received two bottles of this on June 29th, 2023. I didn’t realize the acid wasn’t working until recently when I got suspicious and tested it with known 925. The acid still showed no red. I had no idea the acid could go bad, but it does. Now I realize that the liquid in both my bottles was a dark rust color and not the brighter red in the picture. Please be aware that this company is selling faulty testing solution. Do not trust it!!!! I contacted the company because I was a couple days outside the 30 day window and they refused to replace the faulty bottles. This acid solution should last months if not years, what I received never worked and they are refusing to do what’s right. I will be letting Amazon and all my crafting groups know about this unscrupulous company.

Seems to work.........but............these types of kits have a short shelf life. So, if one uses it only occasionally, it may not give accurate readings beyond a year, or so.

This is a very basic kit just tells you whether you got decently good metal or bad metal whether gold or silver I use it mostly for silver good for the price I recommend it

On doit chercher sur Internet pour l'information comment utiliser le produit. :'(--The product description indicates that an instruction booklet is included. There was none with the package upon receipt. I have to search on the Internet for the information how to use the product. :'(
