I wasn't sure of finish, so I added 2 more laters of spray on polyurethane. Added my 36 volt motor, and grandson, and went fishing.

It is made from good quality wood and fittings. My motor shaft was not long enough to reach the water. So I flipped the mounting block down. It seems to work fine in that position. But I did have to trim some wood off to make my motor fit.

Very nicely made. It would be perfect for an electric motor. Our motor was too big for the mounting area but a smaller motor would be perfect.

Super easy to install, and fits perfectly on the Saranac 146. Have a minn kota 55 thrust trolling motor on it and works great.

Couldn’t be more pleased with this motor mount. Made of clear hardwood and quality hardware. The wood mounting bars are much less prone to damage the wooden gunwales on my Cedar strip canoe.

Instruction pictures should clearly show the positioning of the star nuts relative to the bottom cross bar.

Have a 16ft Saranac Old Town canoe, and this allowed us to mount a powerful trolling motor to the real. Nice construction, and happy with my purchase.
