First, follow your local laws when buying, carrying and using this product. There is a good chance that it is illegal in many states and countries, and I happen to be lucky enough for it to be legal in my area. With that said...The Felony Stop is the smoothest, most intuitive fixed blade I have ever owned for concealed carry use. It is so easy to draw and locks right into the proper position in my hand, requiring no mental effort to deploy. Once in hand it is nearly impossible for someone to take it away, given its sharp back edge and the deep groove which functions both as a grappling aid and a thumb groove. There aren't traction grooves on the handle, but they aren't necessary - I have punched this thing through boards and into tree stumps with no slippage due to the pistol grip which pushes the spine of the handle into your hand when pressure is applied to the tip. It is also nearly invisible to anyone when carried inside the pants using 3M Dual Lock and a metal clip.Absolutely fantastic design by Laci Szabo, and great manufacturing by TOPS. Normally I avoid their stuff but this is both a low cost option and the best fixed blade EDC money can buy. I measure this in terms of discreet carry and brute cutting force - it is not a delicate knife and will probably draw some public ire if you whip it out at a picnic to slice an apple. For the latter reason it may be best to carry a much thinner knife (a simple slipjoint should work) for utility and deploy this on in defensive situations only. This is why I give this knife my highest possible recommendation for law enforcement and military personnel who need a strong, concealable fixed blade. Citizens who need the same, and can legally carry it, should also give this product serious consideration. Laci sells trainer versions direct through his website, and I recommend getting on of those as well.

The Felony Stop is one of those perfect fixed blades where it is big enough to trust as your primary defensive weapon and also small enough to be a concealed back-up to your firearm. I personally prefer to go even smaller when it comes to my back-up fixed blades, but that is just personal preference and not a knock on this knife. I am not sure if any of the other reviews touched on this, but the out of the box orientation of the Felony Stop is to be drawn in reverse grip on the right side and in the traditional saber grip for the left. Both methods work flawlessly if you have the training in my opinion, yet I feel like it is worth mentioning in case someone had a particular way of carrying this blade in mind.

There really doesn't seem to be a lot of good fixed carry knives out there and this one is excellent. Very well made, thick blade, good thumb grip, the curve is just about maximum for good defensive positions and straight stabbing, I might actually have preferred a few degrees less but it is still excellent. The sheath sits well in the pants or belt and does not pull out or fall off ever, and I love the double edged blade. Be sure to check your state laws though as some require double edged blades to be non-concealed.

I bought this knife to use as an everyday carry self defense blade. It fits great in my hand. The shape of the handle makes this a very easy knife to control which means you get excellent agility and speed with slashes and thrusts. It comes with a nice sheath that can be clipped or lashed to a belt or anything else you can think of for dozens of carry options. This is another great product from TOPS.

Awesome knife! I have several tops knives and this is one of my favorites. I wasn’t a fan of the double edge but 30 seconds with a sander and it’s better know.
