The ends are rough, unfinished, sharp, ragged. Poorly made.

All rods are poorly cut with irregular edges. Had to use metal file to smooth out badly cut rods…will never buy from this vendor

I bought these to use with a set of GT2 gears and toothed belt, similar to what you see in 3D printers. The stinking rating is because the manufacturing process cut the rods from longer stock with a shear. Essentially, a strong scissor. Why this is bad, is it flattens the rod slightly at the point it is cut, making it bulge outward at the sides. If examined from the end, you can see the rod is not ROUND, but very slightly OVAL. As such, the gears with ROUND center holes cannot be slipped onto the rod.I was able to remove these crushed ends by cutting about 5mm off each end of the rods, using a cutoff disk on an angle grinder. And once the bulging end was gone, all the gears slipped on perfectly. But a correct manufacturing technique would use a cutting action like a lathe to create the rod sections.

I think this is the first time in my entire life I’ve experienced a product with this much lack of attention to detail. Just please do not buy these. And to the company that is manufacturing these, I really hope this was just a manufacturing defect and I got unlucky, but that is a huge jump to make as the evidence is pretty clear to me. Just do better.Your only market is to sell to hobbyists that need a precisely machined rod, and you don’t even have the thought that using what looks like bolt cutters to cut the stock will ruin these rods? The ends are squashed and mangled like they used industrial scissors to cut these instead of a band or chop saw and then had the nerve to not even check if the ends were still correct. Normally with something like this you cut, and then deburr the end to make sure it is still in tolerance. This is just bad though.

Calipers measured at 7.9mm. And the ends are rough as hell... Definitely a cheap ass product.

Each end is slightly crushed so I will have to cut off one end then cut to the size I need but will have to use more pieces than I intended to. You can also tell by the ends too as they are not smoothly cut. Also they won't go into the bearings easily as the ends are misshaped because the way they cut them. They were probably cut with some type of shear tool and not a saw type machine.

Ordered this for a project I'm working on. Found both rods with burrs on each end. Neither were perfectly round, more oval shaped making them unusable for me.
