My first try at my valve replacement I didn't count the # of screws accurately and bought the wrong product. It looked the same but I should have zoomed in on it to make sure it was the correct one. I didn't remove and replace the lower unit here. I removed the old solenoid and top. I pulled out the internal valve control assembly and replaced it with the new one that's the inside of this product. Put the new top and screws on and the new solenoid. Two things were very difficult. First removing the old screws was very difficult and I had to drill one of them out. That was a pain. Then attaching the new solenoid that has to be removed so you can place those two screws in was a challenge. Threading the plastic threads is complicated and I ended up with a very slight leak which I am actually living with because it is so much less that the old unit which leaked profusely and no longer worked, My end result is excellent pressure and a fully working system. The greatest challenge was working in the tight space however my sprinkler valve control is unfortunately against the corner of my slab and a main water line is in front of it so nearly impossible to simply dig the old one out. All in all this proved to be an excellent fix and I'm thrilled but it was an engaging project that took about 6 hours total effort.
