They come in half mm increments which is really useful. They also have a rounded hex-"ball" on one end, meaning the wrench can operate when slightly at an angle with the hole its screwing. I have another set that is not "balled" or tapered on one end, so it HAS to be inserted completely at 90 degrees to the screw. The ball allows maybe 10-15 degrees of wiggle room but will still engage/turn the screw. This is really useful when working in tight spaces and its a huge feature that I didn't even know existed until I tried this set.

GRENPRO Allen Wrenches Set, Hex Keys SetWhat’s not to like? This is a high-quality, long-arm, Metric set of hex keys, also known as Allen wrenches. (“Allan†is NOT a correct spelling for this tool.) There are 13 wrenches made of chrome-vanadium (CR-V) steel in this set. CR-V is a proven and highly respected material for tools that require both strength and durability. It has a Rockwell hardness rating of up to HRC 62 (HRC 60 is considered very hard.) Vanadium provides the strength, while chrome offers formidable corrosion resistance. (Just don’t subject the wrenches to temperatures over 212 degrees F or else the finish will begin to peel off, thereby leading to corrosion.) The long-arm design allows for greater leverage and torque, while the ball-end design helps you with tighter spaces and more difficult angles. These wrenches are thus made extremely well. They have been machined very competently as well: they are very comfortable in the hand, have no imperfections to disturb that comfort, and just simply feel great to use. Given the quality of the steel as well as the machining, they are certainly a very good value. I highly recommend this set.

I don’t encounter Torx screws very often, but when I do (on our bicycles for example), there’s really no efficient way to turn them if you don’t have a set of Torx wrenches on-hand. So this compact set from GrenPRO seems like a handy thing to have on hand if only for those occasional uses. The 9 “Star†(Torx) wrenches in this set are well-formed and – at 2.5†to 7†in length – they are long enough to provide good leverage. In fact, I prefer this “L†shape over the “T†shaped alternatives. Having the center hole in each wrench also allows them to do double duty as “standard†or “security†versions of the Torx design. Each wrench has its size etched on the side (see photo of the T50 size), but these black-on-black markings are basically unreadable on the smaller sized wrenches (e.g., the T10 and T15 sizes). Fortunately, the plastic storage rack is also labelled with sizes. The hinged design of the plastic storage rack is similar to that used in many similar sets, but here the durability is perhaps a little lacking as part of it arrived broken off (see photo). This suggests to me that the rack may not hold up well to normal wear and tear, especially if it gets dropped at some time in the future.

I have never seen an L shaped Torx wrench before, and here I am, quite pleased with this set. It's not enough of an issue to remove a star, but the size, which is stamped into each tool, is not a different color. Somewhere along the way, I noticed a guy from Florida that uses spray paint and then rubs the tool down after a mild application of WD-40 and the stamped portion is then quite easy to see. :-). I guess I have a reason to give that trick a shot!. If this manufacturer actually took the time to produce their tools in order to keep people like me quiet, their cost, as well as ours would go up and then I'd still be complaining :-) For me, the issue will be a learning experience and it's nowhere near enough to say to avoid ordering yourself some of these tools. I think they are a great value and will definitely come in handy.I am happy with my order and I hope this was helpful. âœ”ï¸ Thanks!

Allen key sets are a dime a dozen it seems, but I have found that many out there are poor quality or they lack the specific keys I need... or both! These GRENPRO keys have been great so far. I super appreciate that this set has both the 1.5 and 2.5 mm keys, which for some reason are becoming more common on my gadgets and small electronics while also often not being represented in metric Allen sets. These have not shown any sign of rounding or damaging fasteners so far, so they appear appropriately hardened and I anticipate them lasting as long as I can keep from losing them.

I always seem to lose the most useful sizes of allen keys, much like 10mm sockets. Hopefully I will be able to keep this set together. It's easy to carry, the outer row can fold out to make them easier to get to. They all seem accurate to size, the ball ends make it easier to get into spaces where there isn't room enough to turn a straight set. They've been able to handle all the jobs I've thrown at them so far. The case is good and sturdy too. Over all great set.

Needed a spare allen wrench set to keep in a vehicle. The good: set seems well made (with one possible exception), storage holder keeps everything organized, holder has hinged arm for the smaller wrenches for easier removal, allen wrenches stay put in the holder regardless of orientation, wrenches function as expected. The neutral/not so good: unclear how well the finish will hold up over time - these have a shiny finish that are already showing small scuffs, all my other allen wrenches have a dull finish. If this turns out to be a problem (corrosion?), the review will be updated. Overall happy to have them.
