Less than a minute to replace. Super easy. I keep a spare just in case. YouTube instructions, it takes longer to watch the video than to replace this valve.

Unable to locate a part number on Totousa site, I ordered this item, THU302, as well as THU123. The two items are absolutely identical. I scrutinized and measured; they appear to be the exact same thing. They were in sealed bags labeled Toto Genuine Replacement Parts. I installed the THU302 on a dual flush Toto that is at least ten years old, Model ST412M. It is a simple job to replace this part but it wasn’t easy. The job is done and the tank fill is now working. I am thrilled since replacing the entire fill valve would have cost me hundreds of dollars because the toilet is very close to the wall (close rough in) and removing the toilet is the only way to access the nuts under the tank. The skirt of the commode nearly touches the wall. This disabled 75 yr. old woman cannot remove and replace a toilet.Installation of the cap on the fill valve was a pain because in the case of my toilet, the tank is very narrow; the fill and flush valves were not installed properly to begin with; lime deposits had “glued†parts together. The valve needs to be held steady while unthreading the old cap (getting two hands in the narrow space is tricky). Everything seemed like it could easily break…not the end of the world if you can replace your fill valve. I spent considerable time with plain white vinegar repeatedly soaking and gently picking off the chunks of lime with a tiny slot screwdriver. Finally got the old cap off, disassembled what could be and cleaned all with vinegar. The photos are the new cap and old one and the head of the fill valve with the cap and the float removed. The gasket thing had come apart causing the fill valve to very slowly fill in spurts as the water was being splurged out of somewhere on the valve and never fully filling the tank. When I first installed the new cap, the fill would not work. The rubber gasket is now a flat thing whereas the old one was umbrella shaped with ridges that fit right into the valve head. Rather than accepting doom, I twice took it all apart again, inspected for remaining lime, and thoroughly flushed the valve. Finally, success! Lesson learned: before you buy a toilet, make sure maintenance items can be accessed.

My Toto fill valve kept starting and stopping while filling. I used YouTube to figure out how to "fix" the fill valve and learned how to check the valve cap gasket. I took my old cap off and the red rubber gasket was essentially disintegrated. I rigged up a temporary fix with some thin plastic I had on hand and ordered this replacement cap. When it arrived, I removed my temporary fix and fastened this on in a "jiffy". Problem fixed! If I had not taken cap off to check the fill cap gasket I might have purchased a complete replacement valve. The expense is not so great for a complete replacement valve, but the hassle of installing a completely new fill valve is a real pain. This took all of 2 minutes and I barely got my fingers wet and didn't have to use any tools. Been working great for a couple of months now.

Toto offers two parts that look exactly the same but perform differently. The difference is in the diameter of the hole that supplies the bowl fill tube. This one has much smaller hole than my original, meaning less water flows to the tube, and the bowl is under filled. Nothing bad to say about Toto or Amazon. My mistake. Just hard to figure out which one I actually needed.

I ordered both the THU123 and the THU302 because I couldn’t tell from reviews or QA which one I needed. Compared both to my old one and the 302 was the match. The only difference between the two seemed to be the size of the hole on the piece that connects to the tube. The hole on the 123 was larger. For reference I have an older Aquia II CST416M model that has been discontinued (two piece, dual flush). Replacing this piece fixed the quiet hiss and slow leak into the bowl.

Nice to be able to buy just the one part I needed instead of having to buy the entire valve assembly.

Watch a quick youtube video if you don't know how to install this. It is very easy to do. This Toto part solved the problem which was that the water continued to trickle into the tank due to the old part no longer making a proper seal to stop the water flow. I have two toto toilets. I bought 4 parts just to have them on hand. (and to get free shipping) Totally satisfied with the item.

I originally purchased the Korky replacement version. It didn't stop the hissing sound - actually made it worse. The Toto branded product (which I'm told is manifactured by Korky!) Was more expensive but it worked.
