Touch 'n Hold Inventor
Years ago, the inventor of the Touch ‘n Hold door closer had a little daughter, and although brilliant, she was a little clumsy. She kept on getting her fingers pinched trying to make their old screen door stay open. When this happened, she cried. Not just a little cry. No, this cry involved big, sloppy tears. That old metal washer thingy was just hard to use.
Our inventor also noticed that his very sweet, aging mother had to bend down to fiddle with the washer so that the door would stay open as she did chores around the house. And because she had a bad back and arthritic hands, doing this made her mutter some very un-sweet words. Our inventor did not like to see his daughter cry or his mother grumble in pain. Thus, he used his many years of experience as an aeronautical engineer to invent what some have called, "the world's most convenient door closer." Someone has even called it the, "best invention since sliced bread." Might be a bit of a stretch, but hey, we'll take it.

I purchased this to replace the original closer that came with my heavy security doors I purchased and had installed last year. There was no way I could adjust the closers so when the door got to about 5" from closing it would bang shut. Loudly. I ordered this for two reasons. First, I like the idea of having the push button to hold the door open rather than fiddling with the door closer on the rod. Second, to hopefully dispense with the annoying slamming of the screen door every time we went in or out. I would try to catch the door before it banged shut which was very loud. Replaced the original closer with this item easily. Had to adjust it slightly, but no banging!! Also, the push button works great. My closer is on the top of the door and might be a bit hard to reach for a height challenged person. So far love it. Buying another for my back door.

Our last door closer snapped off when moving furniture through the door. I didn't even know you could get a replacement part for it, but I saw it on an Instagram reel. This was exactly what I needed and took maybe 10 minutes to install. The directions are a little scarce, but if you've done DIY before, you should be fine. There is also a QR code to watch a video if needed.

Perfect solution to slamming storm / screen doors. Push door open, touch raised pad on inner end of controller. This holds door open where selected; upon reentry, open door slightly and press down on raised pad and step thru door. Closer controls rate of door closing, allowing it to shut (without tha loud bang). Case (and door) closed.

I adjusted set screw to slow close, and it seems to do nothing door still slams shut. Also the piston seems to be very loud when closing. My door is not very heavy its a standard glass storm door. The touch lock does work well though. Just thought I was buying a heavy duty closer, but doesn't seem to be heavy duty.

Unfortunately this product broke after a couple of months of use. The “hold†door feature was nice but it didn’t open all the way so your door opening reduces by 30%
