I needed ice packs to keep my breastmilk frozen on a 5 hour trip down to Puerto Penasco, Mexico. These ice packs were super easy to fill, freeze and store in our coolers. Once frozen they stayed frozen the entire trip through extreme heats. The effectiveness on these large ice packs were perfect. They have different sizes which is nice. The square shape is great for the coolers. Once frozen they are not too flexible which is okay for sliding them into the coolers and in between the things you need to keep cool.

These ice packs work so much better than ice and you don't have your food swimming in water or water to dump. The packs do a good job keeping the cooler cool. They are easy to fill and last for years.

Worked great on our road trip in a cooler that fit behind the seat of our Chev Equinox.

I bought these as a less expensive alternative to the Cooler Shock brand, which - as far as I can tell - is exactly the same as these packs. I don't know if it is just a repackaged/rebranded version of the same product, or if it is a knockoff made by a competitor (I'll let the lawyers sort that one out, while I just go for the best deal). Anyway, I wrote a very long dissertation about those other packs in response to all the know-nothings with anecdotal accounts of their use of the ice packs, none of which I could take seriously, and neither should you. BUT, one thing that I don't think should be up for debate, is the advertised freezing/melting temperature of these packs, which is supposed to be 18 degrees Fahrenheit, and which is the main reason I originally bought these packs (or the Cooler Shock ones, the first time). I have twice now taken packs that were in the middle of the thawing cycle (partially melted, partially solid) and sandwiched a temperature probe between two of the packs for a long period of time, to see what temperature they were actually maintaining while thawing, and it was NOT 18 degrees F. At no time was I ever able to get the thermometer to read less than 26 degrees F. This is with the same thermometer probe that, when immersed in a container of melting ice, read exactly 32.2 degrees F, so I don't doubt its accuracy. So, I don't know if I could have made a mistaken in filling up these packs, as I am sure the relative amount of water-to-mixture inside the pack will make a difference regarding the freezing point of the chemical mixture. Maybe hard water makes a difference (I don't have a water softener, so less salt in my water supply, maybe)? I would be curious to see what others who have done this measurement have to say. Otherwise, I have had no problem with the performance of the ice packs, and they ARE still about 6 degrees colder than frozen water, which can keep stuff colder in the cooler than it would keep using plain old ice. But if they are supposed to be 18 degrees F, then I want to get the full capability out of them. And if not, then please don't advertise them as "softens at 18 degrees and stays there for hours" as they do.

These are the longest lasting and coldest ice packs I've ever purchased. They fit nicely in lunchboxes or as an extra in a larger cooler on hot days (I have the larger ones too that I bought a few years back).

Bought them a while ago and still use them on weekly basis. It does a decent job to keep the cooler cold.

Wonderful! My first gel packs for coolers! Used all 5 lunch-size packs in a medium size cooler, and they did great! Very long day from 4 am to Midnight, and the packs were still slightly cool after 20 hours in the cooler. The first hours, they were remarkably cold. Kept milk, juices, cottage cheese, water, and fresh fruit cool and from spoiling throughout the day. So much easier and less messy than using actual ice. Have only used them one time, but very happy and impressed! I'm sold! Thanks so much for carrying, Amazon!
