As long as you have a 2" hitch, you can install this brute and load a 12' Olde Town canoe in the back of your Toyota Tacoma in 15 minutes. It's tough, as advertised, and built to last forever. It really has no competition for this application. Oh, and their customer service is first rate. Mine arrived from Northern Tool in Minnesota, in a hard-worn box, missing 5 retention clips. I called their 800 number, clips are on the way. HIghly recommend the manufacturer and the seller.

I had to bring home some 12 and 16 foot lengths of lumber this summer. I attached this extender to my pickup truck's trailer hitch receiver (takes about 30 seconds). The extender is made of very heavy duty square steel tubing, and carried several hundred pounds of lumber easily. It breaks down easily and stores away in a minimal amount of space. I can't imagine what I could do to this device that would harm it in any way. I feel really secure hauling long lumber at freeway speeds. Just make sure the load is tied securely, and away you go.

I should have known. I wish I had lustened to the reviewer who said the product packaging sucked.Mine came in a torn up box which had geen taped back together. It was missing seven parts. What a pain shipping back

This item is solidly built and worked really well. I like how the width is adjustable. Also, I was able to use it vertically, putting my kayaks on top od the roof, instead of just extending it out. Only negative things was the box was torn up considerably, and it was only by luck that the pins weren't lost. UPDATE: Just got back from a 1,000 mile round trip journey with this rack. It held up really well on the main roads, I would suggest that if you're going to be on very bumpy roads to invest in some spacers or a ratchet strap to keep it tight, it really wobbled considerably on rough roads. Still keeps a five star rating though.

Well built. I use this for kayaks. works great. Nice and heavy. Dropped a few times with no issues. I did have to ream out one of the holes. The paint was too thick in the hole so the pin wouldn't fit through.

Shipped in a timely fashion but the description read that all parts were included and this was not the case. The clips that hold the pins on the rack were missing 2 of the four needed. Not a huge deal but the clips sold at auto part stores and hardware stores don't fit the holes so I had to buy new posts and spend $18 in gas searching. So it ended up costing me over $30. Would have just bought it new if I had known.

Not only have I used this item countless of times, so has family & friends. Heavy Duty. Great product for extending the bed of your pickup for hauling over length items.

Cheap price, usual Chinese quality. It appears the welder was cockeyed when he welded the end piece receiver for the upright, somehow appears slightly off square. Otherwise does the job for the price. Perhaps in the future Amazon could indicate the country of origin so buyers could make an informed decision.

Does what it is supposed to do, and much cheaper than alternatives.

Fantastic product. I mostly use this for transporting rolls of carpet and lumber. I have not had any issues at all. Every load is now properly secured. This is a good buy.
