I have an external building that used to be a small horse barn that we are using for chickens and quail. We have "smart" plug-ins that we use to control a light , 2 heat lamps and a fan .. plus a cheap indoor 2k rotating camera that all use WiFi. The barn is right on the edge of our houses WiFi signal so I bought these powerline adapters to run a signal into the barn and then connect up an EOL UniFi AP out there .. works Perfect! Strong WiFi and networked into our LAN.I'll be buying another set to do the same thing out in our car portThese in themselves don't use WiFi .. so I can't rate that "feature" .. I don't know about tech support for these IF it's ever needed .. and I only need a 10/100 connection for the old UniFi AP's I am and will be using so can't comment on gaming

Unfortunately, there is really no way to tell if a powerline adapter will work for you until you try it. Since Amazon makes things easy to return, I gave this a try.For me, it worked great! I am getting a very consistent 100-120 mbps. I needed Ethernet to my detached garage but had no way to snake a cable from my basement to the garage. I put one end closest to the breaker box in my house and the other end electrically closest to the garage sub-panel.The theoretical speed with powerline adapters is always going to be way higher than the speeds you'll actually get. If you understand that, you should be happy. The internet in my garage is more than fast enough for me to do regular internet browsing and play YouTube at 1080p with no buffering, and that's all I need!

The box it came in had no branding nor did it have instructions. I was able to find a Youtube video from the company printed on the device. It was rather easy to set up. It needs 2 ether net cords yet it only comes with 1. It does not speed up your connection, download, or upload speed HOWEVER, it does stabilize your connection. I have yet to disconnect from a game or application where as before I would every 10 minutes or so. My connection in game is very stable whether it be a good stable at a high ping or low one.

I bought a pair a while back and they have been working flawlessly. I extended my ethernet out to my garage because the wifi on my laptop no longer functions. I plug the adapter and an air compressor into the same outlet and I can reliably connect to my network even with the compressor running.

I have no problem with refurbished products and don't nitpick little things as I would really like to make it work, however this came in poorly and proved to be terrible. This specific batch that I got came with 2 x powerline adapters and 1 x ethernet cable. I tried checking, but this product didn't have package contents listed as I assumed a second ethernet cable should have also been included, and perhaps a user manual. It states that it was easy plug & play, however I had much more issues. The ethernet cable it provided was so bad, its been wrapped and twisted so tightly with many dents throughout the entire cable, I wasn't sure it was even going to work. I did attempt it but ended up using my own cables just to be safe.Upon testing. I ran speed tests for both on wifi and ethernet, and wifi performed significantly better and consistently across the 20+ tests I ran after changing different variables such as ports, cables, restarting my pc, etc. to see if it could improve, it did not.Another issue I kept running into is that every time I reconnected the ethernet for testing, it would not show as connected on the PC even if all the lights were on, on both adapters. I would have to restart my PC to ensure that it was Ethernet connected and had swapped the connection. It got pretty frustrating at that point.Unfortunately this one did not work for me. I will be returning and not purchasing a refurbished version of this again.

This was easy to use, I bought it for our new house as running an eternity cable to my router would involve more than 100ft of cable as well as cable molds to hide it throughout the house. This is much more cost effective than buying all those things for running the cable.HOWEVER, even though my house is new, built in the last 2 years, after resting my wired speed, I'm getting 30mbps on average and 3mbps upload. I wanted to get off wifi and have a wired connection as I would be gaming and streaming.I'll end up returning this as a USB wireless adapter from my PC is receiving an average of 180mbps. I wish I could be a wired connection, but at the end of the day, I'm going to go with the faster option. This may work better in my situation if th distance between the two points I plugged this in was less. I'm giving it 5 stars as it is SUPER easy to use. Just plug and play. I would recommend if your plug in points are much closer than 25ft or so in the house.

Since my home is a small two floors unit, TP-Link AV1000 Powerline Starter Kit is the perfect choice for my home needs. Although, it is simple to set up, ensure you have two extra long ethernet cables in case your router and cable modem are occupying one two-plug power outlet. This way you can plug the extra length ethernet cable to the back of the router or cable modem and the other end of the ethernet cable to the TP-Link AV1000 devices and plug that same TP-Link AV1000 device into another power outlet. The second TP-Link AV1000 will be plugged into another power outlet near your PC Laptop or gaming console and then connect the second ethernet cable to your second TP-Link AV1000 device to your PC Laptop or game console.

Bought there for an area of the house where WiFi is spotty. But when I need to download files, I tend to revert to WiFi because I'll get it done faster. When I need a stable connection, these are better. But have terrible throughout. They also get very warm.Installed them at a friend's house as well, which is older, but there they tend to disconnect every so often.
