Why are underinflated tires such a big deal?

Underinflated tires are susceptible to a variety of problems, from mild (premature wear and increased fuel consumption) to major (tread separation and blowouts). Underinflated tires wreak a staggering amount of havoc on our nation’s roads and highways.Once all vehicles are equipped with TPMS, as many as 120 fatalities and 8,500 crash-related injuries could be prevented each year.

When do I need to change tire pressure sensros?

TPMS sensors are designed to last for 5-10 years. Given their cost, most drivers will be inclined to replace TPMS sensors on an “as needed” basis – in other words, only once their batteries have expired, or TPMS components have failed. Your vehicle's onboard computer should respond and provide warning of a TPMS problem or failure.

QA

Why can't the tire pressure sensor be activated?

Generally, there are two main reasons 1) Incorrect OE number has been selected. and 2) The tire pressure sensors are too close together, causing signal interference.

Before activating replacement sensors, make sure the OE number for the vehicle model selected in the tool matches the OE number of the sensor you purchased. Then our sensors could be activated 100%.

QA

Can I replace the TPMS Sensor by myself?

Replacing TPMS sensors requires a tire changer and TPMS scan tool. The wheel should be rebalanced after installation. If you have access to a tire changer and balancer, along with the proper tools for installation of the sensors and the relearn procedure, you could attempt to replace a sensor. However, we recommend you have a reputable repair shop do the installation and relearn.

QA

What should you do before install the sensors on your car?

Advise your installer to scan tpms sensors to make sure they can retrieve sensor information such as OE number, frequency, tire pressure, battery status and etc before install sensors on your car. Avoid unnecessary installation fees. Most TPMS tools can successfully activate our sensors.

To avoid signal interference. Please place only one sensor near the tool at a time. After activation is successful, then move to the next one.

These worked for my 2016 F150. I almost returned them because the method of pushing the flashers 6 times wasn't working. I had a cheap relearn tool and returned it and got the Ford Motorcraft tool and still nothing. I ended up finding a video showing the right way to pair NEW sensors. I think the other way is just for when you rotate the tires with sensors that are already paired to the vehicle. The way I did it was- press and release brake, ignition on-off-on-off-on, press and release brake, ignition off-on-off-on-off-on. The truck then goes into training mode and you start at the left front tire and work clockwise around the truck with the relearn tool. Hopefully that helps someone fix theirs, I was about to give up when I finally found the right way to do it.

One of the sensor didn’t work from the beginning and 1 the battery life didn’t lasted even a year. So imagine how much money I had spend taking the car trying to make it work. Now I have to buy a complete set to replace the 2 that didn’t work.

The TPM sensors fit fine and were easy to use. They did not automatically program to the vehicle or work with the simple tool. Had to have a tire shop program the sensors.

I have wasted time an money installing two of the four TPMS in my truck. They are defective. After all that work of manually installing these TPMSs, neither of the two sensor will learn in my vehicle.I used the Ford scanning tool and I also did the deflating the tire method. I went from 38 psi all the way down to 18 psi and it never communicated with my vehicle. After installing two of these new TPMS, and then removing them because they failed, I took one apart and I measured the open circuit voltage of the internal coin type battery that is spot welded to the internal circuit board. The "2032" size coin type battery cell when new should have about 3.6 volts in an open circuit situation. The battery I removed measured 2.99 volts which is low for a brand new battery.
