Received and installed this Lift Assist kit today. I'm wondering why I waited so long!Install was relatively painless, and instructions were clear and very detailed. Too detailed!But anyone with any mechanical skills at all should be able to handle this easily.One possible hiccup for some may be the length of the mounting bolts.They are longer carriage bolts meant for mounting on tube rails with the top part of the bolt not threaded. My rails are angle iron.I just replaced them with same size, but shorter, full threaded carriage bolts. No big issue.Quality seems very high. Time will tell, but this seems like an outstanding deal for a well-made and back saving new addition to my trailer.Works like a dream with fingertips now!

For having very few pictures, the instructions were ok. To install on an angle iron top for trailer sides, I had to reinforce the angle iron with a 2x4. While it took modifications to the trailer to install, it works great and was well worth the need for modifications.

This product is a great alternative to the name brand item. I installed very meticulous and here are my findings. The carriage bolts were not long enough for my trailer bc of the 2-1/2 in tubing top rail. The quick fix is to get longer carriage bolts. The other problem was my cordless drills and the drill bit. What should have taken 60-90 minutes took me 4 hours because of sorry cordless drills and poor drill bits. Just line up the rails and mark the holes and drill is really the most work with this kit. My first impression is excellent, time will tell. Also, I only needed to install one side rail on my 6x12 trailer with a 4x6 tailgate. I can lift and lower my tailgate with one finger now. Well worth the time and money and a huge savings over the name brand.

Bolts included in package are extra long and designed for trailer rails with 2†square tubing. Can be mounted to flat rails but you will need to buy shorter bolts. Half inch holes are hassle to drill but unit mounts securely. Disappointed tubes holding springs aren’t painted on inside. Will be spot for rust and moisture build up. Ramp is now easy to lower and raise. Considering price compared to other spring lifts they are a good deal and work well.
