My work needed some crowd management help with a recurring large event. It's remarkable how people reacted from the start. Once the tones went out, they came back from breaks and were attentive. So much so, that when they saw me just holding the xylophone, they began to reassemble. Depending on how hard you strike the keys, the tone can work for a small space all the way up to a large hotel ballroom. Would recommend.

Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth the cost. It has a nice, full, and clear sound that you're looking for this purpose (or at least I was trying to find). If you've seen/heard the chimes used by staff at hotels to signal the shift to another space (most likely to a meal), this is exactly it. My only gripe is that I wish it was smaller for transport, the size and bulkiness is annoying when you're packing for an event or meeting. A carrying case for this would be nice too. Still, I'm glad I purchased this over other products.

As I do the daily announcements at our school, I wanted something to announcement that announcements were coming and thought this was a lovely idea. And it is. However, the tones aren’t quite right to my ear. It feels like something is missing and it’s not working for me. So although the product is nicely made and of great quality, it was a waste of $120.

One would not expect to hear intermission chimes outside of the opera or a theatrical production.However, in a casual setting this will definitely capture the attention of your guests.The rich warm tones are pleasing to the ear and will usually bring the room to a calm during a social setting.If you have a boisterous crowd, you may consider a bullhorn.The product is well made and delivers a pleasing tone with ease.You may consider a small soft case to store the chime and mallet as the designer did not have the foresight to incorporate mallet storage into their design.

Why does this review page want me to rate "sheerness"?Sometimes (lots of times) I wish humans were in charge. And that English meant, well, English.But I digress. This 3-note chime was exactly as advertised, sounds nice. It arrived in an unsealed cardboard box--unscathed, but that seemed like a lucky coincidence.If you want to chime "break over" in a classy way, this is your product.

Used at a major, high visibility conference of industry execs in DC. When I bought it, my VP kind of questioned it... But after using it to a) call people back from breaks, and b) let people know when they were going beyond their allotted time, he is a believer. Clear and loud tones that cut through the chatter. Meeting ran like clockwork from 8:30 to 4:30, and stayed within 5 minutes of schedule the entire day.
