I purchased this spacer to help insulate my carburetor (350 Chevy hot rod). It works well for this purpose and in fact after driving the car on a hot day I could actually touch the spacer (yea it was pretty hot but certainly not enough to burn the skin). The upshot is, although I have nothing but seat of the pants feel, I believe low/mid RPM torque was also enhanced.. Only (slight) issue I experienced is the fact the provided carburetor mounting studs were about 1/4" short for my Demon carburetor base-plate.
