I took my transfer case apart and replaced this chain due to the original one slipping under acceleration. The issue was repaired properly using this inexpensive part and i'm 1500 miles into the repair so far with zero issues.

Fit like a glove. Solved my slack transfer case chain problem, which before repair, caused an awful grinding/clacking sound on hard accelerations from a stop.Easy 3 hr repair job, and I removed the exhaust to make access easier.

The chain does not look exactly like the OEM that came out of the car at 200K miles so I'm not sure how durable it will be, but it fit perfectly and the awful sound on acceleration is gone.For now I'm giving it 4 stars, but if it lasts even 2-3 years I'd be willing to increase it to 5 stars.It's not something that's easy to just swap out again for a DIY garage mechanic. Took around 3 hours of actual work and a few new tools (to me). Also needed to soak the drive shaft to transfer case joint for hours before I could break it free and waited around an hour for the RTV to set up before putting fluid back in the transfer case. Therefore I'm really hoping it can last a few years.

Saved an incredible amount of money after having my GL450 assessed by my Mercedes Dealer, like many, many thousands! After removing my transfer case, replacing the old 'stretched' chain was easy. Truck runs perfectly again!

2014 Mercedes GL 450 verified that this part works with this model single speed transfer case. The whole job start to finish took a little over one hour. You don’t need to remove the transfer case from the car. You do need to make sure you ha e star sockets to remover the case. Also make sure to get a liter of transfer case fluid from the dealer. Very easy job.

Very pleased with the quality and fitment. Purchased for a 2012 Mercedes Benz GL450. Took around 2 hours for installation but saved thousands compared to dealership. OE chain started slipping around 100,000 miles. I’ve put 2,000 miles on new chain and it’s working perfectly.

This fit my 2011 GL350 and was perfect amd believe it or not , very easy to install as a good home mechanic without even taking the whole transfer case out. I just took the back half off. Unfortunately it has lasted less than 10,000 miles. I'm guessing steel quality is an issue.
