Raccoons are the worst! These straps attach to the can and secure the lid so the crafty little creatures cannot pry it open. Even when the tenacious little scamps topple over the can they are still prevented from accessing all the foul-smelling delicacies they desire. When it is time to dump trash inside the clasps are easily undone (thanks to opposable thumbs).

The nylon straps began to fray within the first couple of weeks, plastic buckle broke after 3 months. I don't recommend this product.

We have a real pest problem with critters in my garbage cans. since installing these not one. I'll tell you as a 200lb 6'1" male you have never seen a higher pitch jump scare scream than when i go to toss a bag in the trash can and 3 big ole racoons come flying out and scramble... glad my heart is still healthy, sheesh. took all of 5 minutes to install and adjust strap length. overall 10/10 recommend if your looking for a non-lethal solution and also tried all those other "hacks" that didnt work.

Trash men came by and I found this after installing it that day. Cheap plastic won’t hold.

These are sturdy, well made straps that should last many years. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and enough hardware is included. I don't have so much a problem with animals as a round trash can whose lid refuses to stay on properly. These straps lash the lid to the can so I don't have to worry about it anymore. It's cute how the racoon face is actually embroidered onto the strap, not a decal.

These straps were easy to install and use. So far they have kept the local bear out of my trash. I would recommend to others
