bought these and used them to climb trees, and I am easy as to how easy it is to climb trees with these set of gear.

The leather buckle straps are the worst they could have put on the spurs. They are weak and they unbuckle with any little movement. If you want to use this you will have to upgrade and invest on some better leather buckle straps.

I picked these up to assist with freestanding set up. I usually have to install freestanding alone and while most of them have ways to do this safely I kinda get sketched out going up a shakey ladder to install the ratchet straps. This makes climbing the tree much safer in my opinion and I can comfortably work hands free installing the ratchet straps. Since I never used climbing spurs before it took me a few toys to become comfortable in using them and letting my hands loose from the strap, but once I got the hang of it we were off to the races.

I've only tried this once so far. I'm 6'3, 240lbs and they were able to hold me going up a tree around 10ft. Cames with plenty of gear and works well. I don't know if I'd recommend these if you were using them every day as there's better (and more expensive) sets available that should be used if its a daily usage. But if you're like me and only need to go up a tree once a year or so, these would do fine.
