Ive purchased 700 blocks so far to fill a foam pit. 100% of them took shape, out of 700 about 20 had a weird shape but all still expanded. As advertised and work well for what they are

Soft and yes although they smelled at first, it has since went away. Works for the purpose we got them. Kids destroy things but these have held up.

Make for great building blocks and also for tossing into a "play area" to make your own mini foam pit. Fun to also harmlessly throw at each other to add to your foam pew pew nerf fights. You imagination really shines here as a bunch of big blocks can be anything! Fun stuff!

My son is happy with them overall but about 20% of the blocks didn't expand right away. They took a fair bit of effort and still aren't perfect.

25-50% of the foam blocks did not expand. I pulled them apart a bit but not fully expanded.
