  • MADE IN USA: we're a small team hand making chimes at our independently owned and operated shop in Nashville, Tennessee; when it comes to building outstanding quality instruments while supporting American jobs, we're all in
  • WHY IT MATTERS: having 100% control over design and production lets us focus on first-class construction with locally sourced materials, yielding the purest sounding chimes; our instruments are highly intentional, professional, and long-lasting
  • THE BARS: we only use custom mill bars, certified to spec and quality tested; our aluminum/titanium alloy is heat-treated in house for 8 hours and tuned by ear; we never paint, tint, dip, anodize or plate the bars, as this adversely affects sound
  • THE MANTLE: selections consist of black walnut or white ash sourced from managed forests in the middle Tennessee region; boards are hand picked from kiln-dried stock, then cut, sanded (16 times), and completed with a hand rubbed oil finish
  • NO PLASTIC TIES: bars are hand tied to the mantle with TreeWorks' CordLoc, a select fiber composition braided for extraordinary strength; like mini repelling rope, CordLoc prevents bars from ripping off (a common problem with plastic clothing ties)
  • HANDHELD CHIME: these chimes are suspended by a strong braided nylon cord you can hold with one hand; the small size is designed for a brief chime effect
  • OF NOTE: TreeWorks attracts players from all walks of life including DCI Drum Corps, professional drummers and percussionists, Broadway performers, churches, universities, recording studios, marching and concert bands, yoga studios, and sound healers
  • BY THE NUMBERS: 12 bars (3/8" thick), single row; 10" long


TreeWorks Chimes. In the summer of 1996, was created by Mitch McMichen. It began in his garage in Nashville, Tennessee. The first set of chimes was made with a hacksaw and a hand drill. It didn't look like much, but that was the first step to crafting the perfect set of chimes. When asked about the early days of TreeWorks, Mitch replies, "I wasn't trying to start a company. I was trying to find a sound." Since then has grown to become the most respected chimes in the percussion world -- used by top studio and touring drummers and percussionist as well as the top 24 drum corps. These instruments are still handmade in Nashville, Tennessee and are unmatched in craftsmanship and sound quality. (It is of note that Mitch McMichen has earned Gold and Platinum records for his recording work in Nashville.)

This is such a nice addition to my sound healing set up, it gives that nice dreamy, magical sound that I add at different times throughout the sound session. Great price, too. Definitely happy with this sweet chime.

Got these chimes to add to my meditation/sacred space and they are lovely - clear, bright tones. I'm very happy with the craftsmanship. The one thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was that the color was quite different from the picture. Mine came stained dark brown.I would have preferred the natural but I decided to keep it rather than send it back and reorder.

I use this in our community orchestra when I don't want to have to carry a mark tree and stand around. The sound is very bright and carries well. I like the fact that is made in Nashville of quality products. I'm ver happy with my purchase.

These small chimes were exactly what I was looking for as an addition to my percussion instruments box for our grandchildren as well as church and other activities. They are made of top-quality materials and create a very mystical sound when you run your finger along them. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Excellent quality orchestral standard instrument. Would have gone for bigger version had cost allowed, but this one was perfectly adequate and did the job it was purchased for. Came packaged in sturdy cardboard tube, which is heavy-duty enough for long-term storage.

Well done TREEWORKS. This item is beautiful. I just added it to my cymbal stand with a TREE WORKS arm and it sounds lovely. These chimes are one of the best purchases I have every made on Amazon. Yes, I purchased it on sale. TREEWORKS should know that their quality is bar none and I am having so much fun with the chimes weekly as my jazz combo plays the standards, ballads and bossa novas!
