I love the idea of this, it's effectively one big spring that serves as a file/desk organizer. Assembly was easy, you just have to slot the two ends of the 'spring' into the base, it's flexible enough that it's not a challenge (as long as you know that's what you're supposed to do, I was a bit confused when I first took it out of the box). The problem is that the layers of the spring that form each divider don't sit parallel to one another, they're slightly askew and no amount of bending at them seems to fix the problem. Additionally, since the two end dividers slot into the base and the middle dividers sit on top of the base, the top "point" of each divider doesn't quite line up. The concept is cool, and this looks cool from a distance, but up close you can tell there are many non-uniformities to it. Functionally it works fine and has no issues holding up papers or even small books/magazines, and the springiness is nice if you need to fit something slightly wide into it, but if you're going for a nice aesthetic, be aware that up close this isn't quite as clean looking as the photos imply.

The base of this is metal with no sort of rubber feet. So if you put this on a wooden shelf or other hard surface, there's no sort of softer cushioning. Also, the top part has a spring-like construction. Its under stress. You fit one end into opposite ends of the base and it stay in place due to its spring stress. So it slightly bends the base. This causes the base to not sit perfectly flat. In my case, I had this on a wooden shelf. But due to its not sitting flat, and having no soft feet, every time I removed a file or inserted a file, it would rock and bang against the shelf. It ended up being loud to use which in turn, felt cheap. Returned it unfortunately.

It worked great for what I was trying to do. Perfect for using to store baking pans nice and neat. Saved me alot of room.
