Literally broke within 5 minutes of use. The fastener is apparently made of balsa wood. Just crazy brittle material.

It arrived in a plain box with no instructions. However, it is really easy to put on and adjust. I purchased this so I can easily put the lens in portrait mode when it is on my gimbal. Really makes taking shots of flowers and insects much easier, especially when the composition would look better in portrait than landscape.The fact that it is Arca compatible means I don't need a plate to attach to the collar like I need with my larger Canon telephoto lenses. I tested taking a few shots of some flowers in a vase with my flash attached to the front of the lens and in the hotshoe; it is bulky, but I was able to slide the camera back on my gimbal and still keep everything level and balanced. So, now I can really work on perfecting my macro photography technique.Another good thing is I have a level in my camera so I can easily level the camera whether it is in portrait or landscape mode.

Beware of the possible failure of the crew. It will damage your $10000 camera.The screw nut is glued into, and can not hold the weight of any professional gear. It falls out when I was screwing on the quick release plate.

Have now had a couple of these. Use them on my canon 100mm L 2.8 macro and also together with a neewer plate and a couple of small ring articulating arms made my own two head adjustable macro light utilising godox receivers and 270 flash headsMuch cheaper than canons adjustable macroFits the lens perfectly with padding to prevent scratching - very secure and recommended
